Super Bowl Shoutout: Can Gronk be effective?

OPENING HIT: Part of me wonders if Bill Belichick is pulling a fast one. That somehow Rob Gronkowski isn't as hurt as the Patriots are saying but that's far-fetched even for the tricky mind of Belichick. Which means Gronkowski is really badly injured.

This isn't a question of whether Gronk will play. He'll likely find a way to be on the field. The real question is effectiveness, and based on everything I hear the chances of Gronkowski being a factor are almost non-existent. You don't recover from high ankle trauma this quickly and the fact he still hasn't practiced is the biggest indicator of the seriousness of the injury.

My guess is Belichick will try and use Gronkowski as a decoy. Put him in the game, run a few routes maybe, use him as a blocker if possible. But the idea that Gronk will be Gronk with that kind of injury is a bit far-fetched.

Unless Gronkowski is even tougher than we think which seems impossible.

Please don't become like Cbs writers and Make what Eli said news when it isn't.Eli is the most respectful player around.

Like the NY media stating that Tom Brady is dissing the Giants when he said, (During a pep rally), that the Patriots "might win"  Let's face it media likes to blow things out of porportion.

Also, not to jump into this conversation but it did not look like Mem lumped ALL Giants players or fans into talking nonsense.  He just named a few players.

Super Bowl Shoutout: Can Gronk be effective?

BigBang, please read my post again. I didn't say that ALL the Giants players, nor ALL the Giants fans are bragging or giving the Pats no chance. But many of them are. Have you not been listening to the comments made this week by Mario Manningham regarding Julian Edelman ? Or Antrel Rolle saying the Giants will not be denied and such.  ? Eli Manning has said the Giants "are ready for whatever the Patriots throw at us".

Meanwhile, the Patriot players have voiced nothing but respect for the Giants. They say they will have to play their best football and limit their mistakes if they are going to beat New York.

You told me that all you have heard is Patriot fans predicting a Patriots blowout. Outside of one or two here and on ESPN, I can find no one. Conversely, I have noticed many Giants fans and fans of other teams on both sites, as well as the entire panel of CBS writers, picking NY. And many fans are calling it a Giants blowout. Yet you don't see them either, even though some have been on recent articles on CBS that you commented on.

Pollards hits were all legal, it's not his fault. Sometimes things happen during hits that nobody can help. The Pats had the dirtiest player to ever play the game and I bet you  loved when he was on your team. Rodney Harrison.
