Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

ok, first off, i dont see him in Denver mainly due to Fox's conservative style, while i think Manning would be great for Tebow and he would, i cant see Fox switching to a pass first offense, that's not him.

As for NY, i just dont see the personality of Ryan and Manning working together. For Washington, it's his brother and the Shanahans.

i think the top two teams are Miami and Arizona, both teams have a go to WR, both teams could also sign Wayne to go with their go to WRs and both teams play in fine weather.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Please forgive me dabeav268.  my dad was a buckeye alumni from 55, and i got to sit in the horseshoe for about 20 games as a young boy.  I saw Archie Griffin, and Pete Johnson, The Headhunter, Jack Tatum...the the king of the sidelines, Woody Hayes.  No college rivalry will ever match OSU/Michigan again.  That being said and giving you props for your NFL savvy, YOUR WRONG.  There is no way in heck that Manning will wear Bronco's regalia.  WARM weather does not grow on trees at Mile High.  Yes it's a bit nippy sometimes in SF, but look at the qualitative differences in the teams and what they offer to a 35 yr old, surgically repaired, Hall of Fame shoe in.  He will not get killed, he will have offensive weapons at his disposal, the defense will return the ball to his hands in a timely manner, and the fans are rabid to have a QB to fill in the missing puzzle piece.  No disrespect to Alex, but his time is coming, and Peyton's time is coming to an end.  When was the last time the Niner's won a Super Bowl.  Ask Young or Montana, and then get back to me.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Sad as it is, and how much I despise Tim Tebow, Denver would be a great fit for Peyton. Not only would Peyton lead the team to get playoff experience, it would drastically help Tebow with the mechanics he's missing that most elite QB's have in the league. If I were a fan of the other AFC West teams, I would be fearful of this possibility.

Manning is 35.  A super incredible work ethic, and an awesome statistical history.  But, father time waits for no one, and Manning is no retard.  In fact, he knows that his body won't survive the long term damaging effects of playing for a team that is unable to protect him.  Miami?  Seriously?  They have allowed a sack on QB, with more frequency than any other team in the NFL.  Washington?  no comment.  Denver?  who wants that circus, and Manning loves the heat....good luck Denver   only global warmning would give you a shot.  A powerful O Line, a group of killer play makers, and a defense that is scary.  The best punter/place kicker tandem in football, and a rock star quality head coach and ownership.  He will finish his career in the place that sent two Hall of Famers to other places to finish their careers, because of their true love of the sport.  Joe Montana, and Steve Young both represent the kind of men, that just love the game....THAT much.  So enjoy the next two years as Super Bowl contenders, cause the 49'rs have reason to celebrate.  Peace Out, KastIron Love

'The team that gets Manning will be the one who offers the most "guarenteed money". Really? The guy has more money than god. if he's just looking for the money, then I hope he gets it. You would think at this point of his career he would take small money to surround himself with talent and try to win a championship. His choice will say a lot about his character.

Miami, New York, Tennessee in that order, which ever comes up with the most money the soonest. Why? Why not?
