Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

If the Chiefs shore up the offensive line he'll do a great job there.  If he gets hit like all the other Chiefs QBs he'll be dead by week 4.

ps: I'm a Chiefs fan

Miami and Chiefs have great Tight Ends?  Do you watch football?  Fasano  and Pope are great Tight Ends?  Bro, what rock do you live under?

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

I agree with the AFC comment, but he'll be a Chief. Way easier path to the playoffs in the AFC West thant the AFC East (Tom Brady).

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

The deal is already done. He's already inked by Miami. It's always been Miami, and the fact he said himself he will be signed before Freeagency even begins confirms it.  They are just trying to get Wayne in too.  The AFC East just got real interesting now. Jets with Sanchez are the odd man out.  However, we will see how good Manning really is come game time and how he does once he takes a few shots. 4 neck surgeries is nothing to overlook by any means.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Every team has good and bad weather.
Not true... It's no less than 72 degrees and "sunny" for EVERY game in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Arizona, Detroit, Minnesota, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans and Atlanta. Wink

I will say this, though... I'd wager that during the average NFL season, snow falls in Denver with greater regularity than hurricanes hit Miami.

Now, have I said that a little snow is absolutely going to swing his decision? No. But, fact of the matter is, unless you are indeed Peyton Manning, himself (which... given the anonymity the internet provides... I guess you very well could be), you can't tell me that weather is a "non-issue". I mean, if a team with a boat-load of cash, and a QB away from a Championship played their home games in an open-air stadium on the South Pole, I don't think Manning would hesitate to go. But, in this case beggars CAN be choosers. And I'm sure several far less pressing issues are being taken into account than you, or I know about.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

The team with the most upside is the Kansas City Chiefs and here's why:

Peyton Manning requires a top level pass catching Tight End for his game and he wants to stay in the AFC. That eliminates a good deal of teams. KC and Miami have great Tight Ends and are in the AFC. They both have what he wants. But, Miami has to get through the Patriots and the Chiefs are in the easiest Division in the league to win.

So with a Super Bowl victory as his primary motivation and having more money than he needs already, why would he want to risk the playoffs by being in the same division as the Patriots when he could walk to the AFC West title with little effort?

So I think Peyton will be a Chief next year if he really wants to play the odds of winning a Super Bowl.

PS: I am a Chicago Bears fan.....

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

I believe Peyton signs with an AFC team with the hopes of facing his brother in the Super Bowl.  Therefore, I believe he will sign with the Miami Dolphins and not Denver due to the strong following of Tim Tebow.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

the bottom line on this subject is that manning already has a place in miami so south florida is the enviorment he clearly prefers otherise hd have a condo in denver or any of these other cities being mentioned

That's dumb.  He had the condo in Miami when he played for Indy.  Having a condo in Miami doesn't mean he wants to play for the Dolphins.

Miami is a nice place to visit, but no one really wants to live there.
