Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

He was released because he was owed 28 million if they didn't. But with the Colt's in rebuilding mode, it was the best thing for the Colt's and Manning. The Colt's can try and draft the next Manning and Peyton can try and hook on with someone who has the pieces to compete next year.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

I just can't comprehend why Peyton Manning would go to the Miami Dolphins.  The Dolphins as a whole are in shambles and they have a long way to go before being well rounded and competive.  They play in the AFC East and thats the New England Patriots' division as far as I am concerned.  Peyton Manning needs to play for a team that is in a week division, ie. Seattle, Arizone or San Francisco.  The Houston Texans would be the best fit for Manning, their Defense is an elite group and they play in the AFC South.  Manning would play in the weakest division in the NFL; they would play Jacksonville twice, Titans twice and the Indianoplis Cotls with a rookie QB twice. If he picks Miami, its all about money and not winning.

I hope Peyton doesn't go play for Denver. There are no weapons there for him to use (ok, not none, but minimal), and he would have to play for Shanahan. How would ol' Mike be able to let the QB control the game? He hasn't allowed a QB to have an indepedent thought since Elway had pads on.

Please stick to the CFL.

Why do these teams even want him? To sell some tickets? He was just released from the "WORST" team in the NFL, in favor of a guy who has never played an NFL down. Of course, with alot of upside. I think Indy knows something, there not telling the rest of the league.

Stop with Miami already.  They don't have the cap space of other teams.  They play in the same division as the Patriots.  Their OL is doodoo.

No one cares about the damn weather.  You do realize Denver averages 300 days of sunshine a year don't you?  It's no like he would have to play in anymore snow than we did in Indy or would in Miami.  The weather is a non-issue.

I never would have dreamed Jeff Saturday graded out that high because every time I've seen him play in the last two years he seems to require a lot of help from the guard.
They had those rankings on the thedailynorseman.com  and were sort of complaining about how highly the vikings o-line was ranked.  I remembered it b/c they pretty much evaluated everyone closer to what i thought vs the blogger.  To me it was a, i told you Loadholt wasnt all THAT bad.  (They were makign it out like he should be benched)

"And disappointing Big Mike Williams?  The guy who carried the receiving corps when Carroll gave him a chance in 2010, then disappeared last year?"
Woah there, Hawkman77... careful what you say! I called Mike Williams a disappointment over on the Seahawks page a while back, and was almost unanimously rebuffed, like it was sacrilege, or something. Lol.

As far as Manning goes... none of these teams' offensive lines are exactly stellar. I think (aside from the money) the decision should hinge on the best WR(s) on the roster. I think that Miami's Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess comprise the best that will be available to him. Plus, it'll boost the running game, the defense isn't awful, and Miami offers the best weather he'll get year round, outside of a dome.

What a smackdown for the value of the St. Louis Rams 2nd overall pick. If Manning ends up in Washington or Miami and then Flyn signs with whichever team does not get Manning then where is the value of that 2nd pick......

St. Louis Ramn better be saying their novenas to have Manning end up in Denver.

Interesting link, TwistedMoFo.  I never would have dreamed Jeff Saturday graded out that high because every time I've seen him play in the last two years he seems to require a lot of help from the guard.  I also thought it was interesting that the Dolphins' Pouncey graded out relatively poor.  Thanks.

I would'nt take rubber neck on my team because he will not last,he's just going to be a ticket seller at the gate.and for all you last place teams forget it he's going to a contender with a good offense line.
