Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

It's seem pretty simple on here.  If your team is listed as a frontrunner, you like the article.  If your team is not a frontrunner, you hate the article.

Go Broncos!

Arizona seems like a great fit

Surprised Arizona is not on the list.  They already have the best WR in the league, Early Doucet is a great WR, and Beanie Wells is starting to produce.  It would be like Harrison, Wayne, and Edgerrin James.  Also, who doesn't like the weather in Phoenix during the fall?

As a Dolphin fan, I'd love to see him go there -- Marshall, Bess, and Hartline could be pretty good if they actually had a QB.  The Fins need a big RB though to keep the defenses honest -- I don't see Bush staying healthy for a whole 'nother year.

All I can say is that Freeman should be thrown in jail because he's stealing $$ from CBS posing as a writer. What a fraud. They give him $$ for that? He probabbly wrote that while sitting on his toilet.
Hey, Hey, Hey, I do some of my most profound thinking and writing on the toilet.

Let's see...no weapons huh. So..then i suppose Ernie Decker, Demtriaus Thomas and Eddie Royal are terrible receivers too huh? i mean Thomas only ran a 4.3 40, and became a great deep field threat last season. Yes deep field, even with Teblow's AWEFUL 30% QB Rating. Ernie Decker, i guess he is the worst route runner in Denver history since shanon sharpe (*Sarcasm*) Eddie Royal yeah, yeah i forgot he is just as bad, this man couldn't catch a cold in a snow storm could he?
Um...ERIC Decker is a very good receiver, as is DEMARYIUS Thomas.  We Broncos fans appreciate your support, but please learn our players' names.

"The front runner will be the team that,in the end, offersthe most guaranteed money".   Allow the smear campaign on Peyton to begin!  I wish this anonymous source would put a name behind a quote like that.  Without knowing Manning personally, I have a hard time believing there aren't a multitude of criteria he's looking at.  #1.  Would he be forced to adapt to the teams current scheme, or does he get control of the offense?  #2.  Does the team have a good enough offensive line to give him a second to throw the ball?  #3.  Does the team have a shot to win a superbowl.... etc...  Of course money is going to matter, but I'd bet about anything it's not the end all be all reason for the team he signs with.  Unless Manning says it himself, or ends up going to the Browns for $20mil, I'm not buying it.

@Bronco

Is this dude for real? Did he just say he hopes Manning doesnt play for the bronco's because they don't have any weapons...THEN add that Shanahan still coachs there?

ROFL.

Let's see...Denver has oh let's say a WAY BETTER run game in Willis McGahee and Lance Ball than the sorry ass colts EVER had which will do what? open up the pass game. Should i also mention that they led the league with 165 yards a game? (164.5 to be exact).

Now i much rather have Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon myself...but denver doesnt have bad receiver's they just dont have a "Quality" QB that can get them the ball accuratly in order for them to progress or look like the all-star caliber players they have the potential to be.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Cervical - Meaning cervical spine, which are on your neck.  Hence, the neck surgeries.  Really?  Please look things up that you don't understand before you post.  Thanks.

My previous comment was in reply to this statement:

redskinscott,

So Manning has "cervical issues".  I never heard anyone ever call Payton Manning a girl before, because that is what he would need to be to have a cervix with "issues".  As near as I understand it, he has had several Neck surgeries.  I do agree with you however that the Redskins are a project that Manning does not want to deal with, plus he would have to compete against little 'bro.
