Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

I think if the Texans could afford him that it would be his best bet, I think they would dominate with a QB they could count on game in and game out.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

As a Dolphin fan the only thing I can ask of Peyton is that he not take his talents to South Beach. I'm tired of quick fixes and his cap hit will be too high.

Please Mr. Ross keep your checkbook in your pocket. Keep the draft slot you have or move back for more picks. Don't mortgage the future for Manning or by trading up to get RG3.

If Flynn doesn't price himself out of the market go ahead and sign him. At least he will know the system. This team is not a QB away from contending.

If he wants to win it all, San Fran would be his best bet.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Your just like everyone else talking out their butts. It's funny how so many as you think you know the answer but you don't. The funniest is your Giants lost to the Redskins not once but twice. You must not know much about the NFL if you think any team is three years from the playoffs. Any year, any team with a lot of luck can win and make the playoffs. Shanahan has built a very strong offensive line the last three years and the running of rookies Hulu and Royster is proof. The Redskins started 3-1, and just a little luck they beat Dallas and go 4-1. If doesn't go down at week five for the year, the Redskins don't lose Trent Williams for 6 games and a few others on the line for a few games, the Redskins make the playoffs and your three year forecast is out. The Giants season could have just as easy fallen apart at week 10 and they fall out of the playoffs. No one knows...

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Why in the world would Manning want to step into the world of the REdskins and Danny Snyder.  The local media here in DC has indeed put up the story that Manning wants no part of the Redskins.  Aside from the not-so-rosy prospects for the immediate future for this team, there is also the history of the money flowing from Danny Snyder's bankk account into teams that just don't do much, despite stars signed here and there.  A fundamenta problem that has yet to be addressed in the Shanahan era is the offensive line.  Oh, it's good enough for the likes of journeymen quarterbacks like Beck and Grossman, but there's no way in the world this line will protect someone from really crippling injury.  And the line still has to learn to block to make the running game enough of a threat to keep defenses honest.  No, Manning is not comong to DC.

Agreed, they are at least 3 years away from making the playoffs with Manning so why would he want to spend several years until he is 40 years old and not be a contender?
