Peyton Manning insists he's made no decision on his possible NFL destination. Sure, Peyton. Sure.

No one in the league believes that. They think Manning has a short list but doesn't want to publicly admit it so he can maximize the inevitable bidding war.

One team official that contacted Manning's agent, Tom Condon, says he got the definite impression that Manning indeed has already decided where he wants to go, or, at least, the handful of teams truly in the mix. The official, who did not want to be identified, believes that Miami, Washington and Denver are the front-runners. One report states Manning has already informed the Redskins he doesn't want to play for them.

But the official conceded the front-runner will be the team that, in the end, offers the most guaranteed money.

The official believes that contrary to some reports, Manning is indeed open to playing in the NFC, even in the NFC East where his brother Eli, is obviously king of the division.

It's still early in the process but one thing is clear: the Manning derby is fully under way and, despite his public protestations, Manning likely already has a good idea of where he wants to go.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

He can go anywhere and make them a playoff team, so it doesn't really matter. You saw what happened to the Colts when he left.

Except the Redskins of course...there is no hope there.

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

I'd said it before football season last year, that he will end up in Arizona w/ Reggie Wayne and Larry Fitz

Has Manning already narrowed his choices?

Why in the world would Manning want to step into the world of the REdskins and Danny Snyder.  The local media here in DC has indeed put up the story that Manning wants no part of the Redskins.  Aside from the not-so-rosy prospects for the immediate future for this team, there is also the history of the money flowing from Danny Snyder's bankk account into teams that just don't do much, despite stars signed here and there.  A fundamenta problem that has yet to be addressed in the Shanahan era is the offensive line.  Oh, it's good enough for the likes of journeymen quarterbacks like Beck and Grossman, but there's no way in the world this line will protect someone from really crippling injury.  And the line still has to learn to block to make the running game enough of a threat to keep defenses honest.  No, Manning is not comong to DC.

Why would Manning go to a non-playoff team if he doesn't need the money. IMO he doesn't need the money and therefore would NOT go there. How would you like to end your career? As a loser? I think NOT!

I agree, up front guaranteed money will win Manning this year, if that's what he's looking for. BUT, if he's looking to win another ring it could be a totally different team. Does he really need MAX money at this point? I don't think so, so the choice should be a major contender for the championship, which in my opinion would be the 49ers. The Dolphins, Seahawks, Redskins, & Jets are not close and would be a waste of time for Manning. The only other choice would be the Broncos with Tebow moving to wide receiver.

Like, the money fact, that we have as much to spend as anyone! I love the Dolphins spouting about beating our a$$ last year. Yes, you did and we lost Eric Berry and Jamal Charles early, very early. Also, no Moeaki and Baldwin missed the first 8 games! You have to realize we lost some serious weapons early. I'm not saying that you guys don't have agood team with young talent. Just don't be so naive and think that we don't have a good team with young talent. We have plenty of it and have plenty of money to spend on other free agents as well.

If you are counting out the Chiefs in this mix, you are considered non-knowing and shouldn't type! Sorry, the truth is the truth! We are as much a player as any other team involved! There are many reasons to come to KC.

We are definitely a team that will win now with a healthy Peyton running the show. A previous poster had mentioned the line as a concern. If you don't know the Chiefs all that well, I can see you saying that. RT is the biggest need on the line, and where we sit in the draft, no worries! We will grab one of the best tackles coming out this year. Hudson will fill in nicely at Center. Albert is a very good LT, not flashy or part of the fake pro bowl selections based on who a player is. He just goes out and blocks people consistently! Asamoah is ready to jump in at guard. We could use another good G to replace Lilja, who blocked for him in Indy. If not, Lilja will suffice for this year.

I am not calling Peyton a Chief, but I am saying don't count us out. We have weapons and we would be a serious threat with Manning under the helm. It should be interesting! We will all know sooner rather than later. Until then, it is all just speculation so don't act like you have a crystal ball.

The Chiefs are much better than the Dolphins. Jamaal Charles is better than Reggie Bush. Bowe is better than Marshall. Breaston is better than Bess. Moeaki is better than Fasano or w/e tight end Dolphins throw out there. Our defense is tons better and it's not even close. We had the 11th ranked defense in the league even though we were missing a top 5 safety in Eric Berry. Add that to the fact that we started out the year giving up 89 points in 3 games and you can see why this defense is better. Tamba Hali eats Cameron Wake as a bedtime snack.

And just cause they beat us doesn't mean anything. We beat the Packers. That doesn't mean we're better. It just means that it's football. Any given sunday.

@Chiefs fan 1982

Take the money in Miami or the team in KC. What are you on? Did you watch football last year? Im not going to sit here and say the Chiefs dont have a team, but there is no way they're are better then the dolphins. If my memory serves me right I think the Dolphins spanked KC last year. And if it wasnt for sparano blowing henne, and would have realized that henne is a bum, the dolphins could have been a playoff team. fact. Dolphins have more weapons, better weather, and hotter cheerleaders.
