Was Paul Pierce Faking?

BOSTON -- The Los Angeles Lakers can't help themselves. They are totally, completely, absolutely mocking the injury to Paul Pierce. They're all but calling him a big, fat fake.

When asked by a reporter about the Pierce drama, Kobe Bryant started laughing.

Asked if Pierce's injury was a Willis Reed moment (which it wasn't), Phil Jackson, always the cute one, ever the damn comedian, said: "Well, if I'm not mistaken, I think Willis Reed missed a whole half and three quarters almost of a game and literally had to have a shot, a horse shot, three or four of them in his thigh to come back out and play. Paul got carried off and was back on his feet in a minute. I don't know if the angels visited him at halftime or in that time-out period that he had or not, but he didn't even limp when he came back out on the floor. I don't know what was going on there. Was Oral Roberts back there in their locker room? But he certainly carried some energy back on the floor for them."

Was Pierce really hurt or was he was pulling a Jack Nicholson?

Rivers said both Pierce and Kendrick Perkins (high ankle sprain) were both still ailing. The good news for Boston is that there's no game until Sunday. They have time to heal. Still I wouldn't count on either of them and at the very least they're going to be ailing badly.

People who believe Pierce earned a Golden Globe didn't watch him walk around after the game. His limp was pretty pronounced.

Unless he was faking that as well.

"Oh, I don't care," said Rivers of the skepticism. "Aren't we skeptics anyway now about everything? So what the heck; let it begin. Let it begin. Lee Harvey Oswald did it."

Of course Paul Pierce wasn't faking.  But, like someone earlier said, he's just a wimp.  I am all for the fans and the media calling the NBA players out finally.  You don't see this in any other sport.  In Football, players get their fingers crushed and take helmets to their elbows and knees every play, you don't see them limping around grimacing in pain after every play.  Baseball players don't even show pain when their hit by a pitch, it's like an unspoken rule.  I'm a big Lebron James fan, but he makes me sick the way he takes 5 minutes to recover from every hard foul, then he doesn't even leave the game!  The rule is if you can walk and nothings broken your not hurt.  All the flops and overreactions to every bit of contact ruin the game as far as I'm concerned.  NBA players need to man-up!

Yea, Freeman, you impressive prognosticator, you remarkable predictor, you Nostradamus of.......anyway, regarding the prescient "Boston Beware" pile of manure, end of the third quarter, Fakers down 20, Kobe choking AGAIN, so all I have to say is.....SHUT UP.

The only thing fake is phil, kobe, and anyone else that doesn't believe pierce was hurt.  We will see how funny they think it is when pierce is holding up the championship trophy next week.

First off I'll post where ever the hell I want to.  Second, I watch the games, go to games, and understand the game.  You are either too stupid to understand the game or just a complete moron.  I would love to explain why I think you are an idiot but it is not worth the time it would take to type it.

I personally feel there wasn't any acting as far as the injury goes.  One might even have to look back at his or her playing days back in high school or the last time the individual participated in a game.  Pierce said he felt a pop, and being the competitive person that he is, the first thing that probably went to his head, was oh crap I just tore something in my knee.  He might have exaggerated the injury, but you have to look at the fact that a knee injury, especially if you feel a pop you are likely to act a little especially since it could have possibly been a ligament that tore, and I also think that with a knee injury you're going to get scared and might even exaggerate the extent of the injury.  I applaud his teammates for carrying him off the court, but to ride in a wheel chair to the locker room?  I'm going to have to revoke his man card on that one.  If you're going to get carried to the locker room, be a man and use crutches or have someone help you to the locker room, don't ride in a wheel chair.
