Parnevik regrets introducing Tiger and Elin

In by far the strongest sentiment expressed so far by a PGA Tour player, Swedish veteran Jesper Parnevik blistered Tiger Woods on Wednesday for the way he has treated his wife, Elin, who is Parnevik’s former nanny.

Parnevik introduced the two in 2001 and they began dating soon thereafter, eventually marrying in 2005. If and when Woods finally relocates from Orlando to his new mansion under construction in Jupiter, Fla., he and Parnevik will be neighbors, their homes separated by the Intracoastal Waterway.

Those waters might be a bit chilly.

Playing this week at PGA Tour Qualifying School finals in West Palm Beach, Parnevik told the Golf Channel that he was upset at himself for ever introducing the pair.

“I would be especially sad about it since I'm kind of -- I really feel sorry for Elin -- since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him," Parnevik said. "We probably thought he was a better guy than he is. I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of the 3-iron."

Woods denied that there was a domestic incident between the pair, though that hasn't stopped rampant speculation about what went down when Woods crashed his Cadillac SUV into a tree six days ago after caroming off three different curbs, plus hitting two rows of hedges and a fire hydrant.

Parnevik, 44, said he hasn't spoken with Woods since the accident on Friday. And we're guessing they won’t be talking anytime soon after Woods sees this, either.

“It's a private thing of course," he told Golf Channel. "But when you are the guy he is, the world's best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff.

“And maybe not just do it, like Nike says."

Yasper, let's see, Tiger , what he did was wrong and cruel but Elin went from being a Nanny to Hmmm make Millions by Marrying Tiger Woods. I do not see how it's a losing deal for her.. Yes , Tiger was an idiot but when you have the amount of people , aka Women throwing themselves at you it's hard to say no I am sure. I hope you do well at the Q school....

Jesper was asked a question and answered it honestly.  How you can fault him is beyond me.  It appears as though you are giving your opinion...how is that any different?  Tiger is a great golfer, no question, but he is a louse for cheating on his wife and putting his children through this mess.  The only thing he appears to be sorry about is getting caught.

Parnevik regrets introducing Tiger and Elin

I never even heard of Jerper, okay I do not follow golf that closely, but seems odd that Jesper says in one sentence “It's a private thing of course," he told Golf Channel. "But when you are the guy he is, the world's best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff." Then why would Jesper even say anything about the issue, seems he just wants press time.

Swatto, you are doing better than I, mine would get a buck .95

Parnevik regrets introducing Tiger and Elin

Ok, I have several issues with your narrow view of the world:

1) Arnold Palmer does not hold the record for majors, that would be Jack Nicklaus - shows how much of a golf fan you are.

2) Why does Jesper Parnevik have to be good at golf to have an opinion? If anything, he's more entitled to speak about this since he was the one who hooked them up. I would  be pissed at Tiger too, because he now I'm sure feels responsible.

3) You call this a character assassination? Do you even know what that means? No one is falsely accusing him of anything - this is all his own doing. His actions are the reason his character is being called into question.

4) There is a HUGE difference between saying you want to "tap that" as you so eloquently put it, and actually going out and cheating on your wife with whom you have two children. If you can't acknowledge that, I don't know what to tell you. I hope you're not married.

5) Why do you say Tiger will have the last laugh? Because he's rich and successful? A billionaire? What the hell does that have to do with anything? He betrayed his wife, his fans and his sponsors. I don't think he finds it that funny.

6) To suggest that Elin knew Tiger was a skirt-chaser and married him for that reason is beyond comprehension. You should be ashamed of yourself for even suggesting something so ludicrous.

I suggest that after you read up a bit on the history of golf, you should pick up a book of common sense.

Parnevik regrets introducing Tiger and Elin

I can't understand people who think Jesper should keep his mouth closed. Why? Good for him!!! Finally someone on the PGA doesn't care what Tiger's going to say and is finally speaking their mind!

I agree with Jesper - Tiger's not as good a guy as we all thought. I wish people would stop defending his actions. This "transgression" should define him from here on out. I remember an interview from 1997 where Tiger talks about how he knows he's seen as a role model all around the world and wants to live his life to that ideal. His carefully constructed image seemed to exude the qualities of a man with integrity and a dedication to family life.

Now we find out that he cheated not once or twice, or with even one or two women, but now 3 women have come forward to tell their story. Tiger is no longer the man, sorry. From now on I submit that Jack Nicklaus be handed back the crown of "greatest golfer of all time (sorry Bobby Jones)". At least he had some integrity and humility, two qualities that are evidently lacking in Tiger.

He also continued to lie despite the fact that he was busted, another ridiculous action on his part. I hope Elin divorces him and takes half of his fortune and the kids. Then he can go screw whoever he wants.

That's what makes me the maddest - his poor kids, from they time they are old enough to know what adultery is, will know that their father is a cheater.

And just for the record - Chris Rock is getting divorced.

Parnevik regrets introducing Tiger and Elin

Seriously.....never been the one to bash someone on a thread but get real "Chriskwa"! The issue IS what it IS and you cant be the one to have your lips around Tigers balls and stick up for him. With Tiger being the ICON that he is..he knows what comes with it. And for Jesper being the one that did introduce them...of course the media is going to him first for input. And praise Jesper for sticking up because there are still great people out there who dont commit adultry!

Parnevik regrets introducing Tiger and Elin

Of course Parnevik regrets it! He wishes he still had Elin watching his kids so he could stare at her all day!
