Woods picks up pieces, golf clubs

ORLANDO, Fla. – Where’s Tiger Woods?

As celebrity and gossip media have reported that he was undergoing drug rehab in Arizona, he was spotted on the practice range at his home course on Sunday afternoon, hitting balls.

What that means for his return date is unclear, but a resident who lives near Woods at Isleworth Country Club reported to CBSSports.com that he spotted Woods – his personal electric cart parked nearby and his trademark stuffed Tiger headcover peeking out of his bag – working on his game on the club's range.

Moreover, Woods is said to be staying at the home he formerly shared with his wife, Elin, and not at the townhouse he owns located around the corner from the Isleworth clubhouse.

Woods spent 45 days in a rehab clinic and has spent little time on his golf game since the post-Thanksgiving Day accident outside his home that started his highly publicized free-fall.

Last week, the National Enquirer and some New York media outlets reported that Woods was undergoing treatment for drug addiction at The Meadows clinic in Wickenburg, Ariz. Woods wife told authorities after her husband crashed his SUV in a tree that he had active prescriptions for Ambien and Vicodin, a sleep aid and powerful painkiller.

Woods spent six weeks in a Mississippi clinic while undergoing treatment for sexual rehab and said Feb. 19 that he was going to resume treatment – though he did not specify what sort of clinic he would be visiting.

Celebrity website Radaronline reported last week that Woods was only planning to spend a week in Arizona. The Wickenburg clinic, located an hour from Phoenix, also treats clients for sex-related issues and once counseled actor David Duchovny.

Woods’ neighbor reported that Woods has a security contingent staying with him at Isleworth.

I think he'll get condemed no matter what he does - if he goes back to golf people will say he's a bad father/husband and abandoning his family blah blah and if he doesn't, he's a 'coward' as you put it. But lets for second forget that he's a public figure - that he's just a person who has to make a personal decision about what's more important - what SHOULD he choose? That's the question i've been asking myself for if I was in the same situation.

And I know he's just hitting his best years physically now - i'm just not sure what he should be doing with them.

Does anybody else think that this may be the best way his career could end now?

I'm a big Woods fan and have followed him since he played amateur golf but I don't see how he can retire from the game cleanly anymore.

Does he work like crazy to get back out on the course only to see his skill and ability slowly diminishing over time while at the same time risking his family life? or does he just walk away from the game now, take his money and remaining dignity, and be the best husband/father/human that he can be?

This question has gone back and forth in my mind for weeks now and i'm not sure what he should do.

If Tiger is now hitting balls and working out, he's getting ready to return. I know he's gonna an ear full initially and rightfully so. But i'm interested in how his game is because if he's even close to form, well standby. This guy will be so focused on golf and blocking everything out. As far as the soap opera goes i could care less. He's not my role model but the tour has not been the same. it's just lacking and i love to watch the other golfers but they just don't provide the excitement Tiger brings.

Woods hitting golf balls!!!! This is great news!  Maybe the craziness is going to go away.  I need Tiger on the course.  The tour just has zero personality without him.  I tried and i mean really really tried to watch the tournaments without him but blah!!!!  Where are the personalities?  Where is the excitement?  There is just not a buzz like there is when Tiger is in teh field
