Woods comeback not making scalpers rich

Frankly, I'm a tad surprised.

Sure, the economy is in the tank. Yeah, perhaps folks are turned off by the notion of watching Tiger Woods do anything at the moment, especially if it costs them money. But still, what would you guess that first-round tickets to the Masters are commanding on the open market?

Remember, Masters ducats are supposedly the toughest to land in all of sports.

The magic number, as of Tuesday evening, is $687 apiece -- subject to the daily caprices of supply and demand, of course. A Friday ticket can be purchased for $601. A four-day badge, available from an online broker called Ticket City, are available from $2,236.

All in all, I would have assumed that, given the incredible buildup and anticipated TV ratings for Woods' first competitive event in 144 days, demand would have been far greater.

Tiger doesn't need to go to church.  He already said he did wrong and he was sorry.  And last time I checked he was trying to do something about his wrong doing.  Who the F--k are you to judge you f--kin a--hole!!!  Excuse my language.  But think before you speak.

congrats you should be writing that with a crayon. with fans like that tiger at least should have something in common with his fans. good luck with your 14 kids and 13 ex wives idiot

And you should be finding someone else to bash.  You've been wasting all your time trying to tear down Tiger, and all he's done in the meantime is win.  He's got more MAJOR career wins than Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson COMBINED, and anyone who can't appreciate what he's done on the Golf Course should just quit watching sports and stick to Soap Opera's, because you're only about drama.  I don't watch Golf to see Tiger Woods parade his wife and kids up and down the links.  I won't watch to find out more of what's going on in his private life.  The only reason any of us know Tiger at any length, is because of the accident.  Does anyone here know anything about Sergio Garcia that isn't Tabloid Food?

No.

And the answer is because he has no star power.  He's about as interesting as putting Nickels on Train Track Rails.  If this was any other Golfer than Tiger that got in all this mess, it would have been a one page story next to the Classifieds Section.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tiger finish in the Top 10.  From everything I've heard and read, he has been practicing like an absolute beast, 10+ hours a day.  He's been playing rounds and hitting balls for a couple of months now, and he appears to be in tip top shape and well rested/healed.

Golf is a solitary game, so he doesn't have to "fit back in" to a team atmosphere, and he is still the best golfer on the planet.  It's certainly not crazy to think Tiger finishes in the Top 10 with a decent shot to win it.  I'm not necessarily shouting that he will like the first poster, but to those who are saying he won't make cut or that it's "insane" that he would win is just ridiculous.

And you too bobstoop.  You are a child and should not be allowed to lead any discussions.  Thank goodness 5-10% of us can think and judge for ourselves.  And were you my neighbor you would not be allowed to continue on like you do.  Trust me.

BBQB8 - are you that childish?  Do you have any sense or dignity?  Others around you would benefit from a mature post.  How about younger kids reading your post?  Is that how you want to lead them into adulthood?  You are not a leader.  You are a child.  And until you grow up you should be barred from posting anywhere anyone can read your garbage.  Dan Kintz

You Sir and a complete idiot.  You just sit there and talk smack all you want because you let Tiger in your pants.  Woods will not win. He is not God, and he hasn't played in how long? To think that he will come out of rehab and win a tournament is just insane. Gambling like that is what makes Vegas rich.  It's well understood that Tiger is by far (or was) the best golfer in the game. We all know he's a tremendous athelete.   You're lack of proper grammar and punctuation automatically takes the club out of your hand. You are simply a homer who loves Tiger's private parts just as much as those "transgressions" he was having.

nice try, my hero is not tiger woods, he is actually one of my least favorite golfers. nice try though, if i dont know what the hell i'm talking about check els stats at augusta... 2006 t27 2007 MC 2008 MC 2009 MC, pretty sure every single thing i said in that statement was accurate. i am also pretty sure that he will make the cut, the only time EVER in his career that he missed it at the masters was in 1996 as a rookie, and we all know what happened the next year. there is a reason he chose to come back next week, tiger will walk away with it and leave all of you who claim that he doesn't deserve to do his JOB because of something in his PERSONAL life completely speechless. I'll take tiger 2 to 1 any day when the words augusta and pressure are involved.
