MARANA, Ariz. -- It hasn't taken long for golf's admittedly rather polite version of trash talking to commence at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, site of the 2012 Accenture Match Play event.

Either way, because it relates to former world No.1 Tiger Woods, people have taken notice.

First it was the Wednesday opponent of Woods, speaking about the former champion, admitting, "I think [Tiger'] beatable." It didn't take long for Woods to respond to Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano's comments about his golf game, giving the five-time European Tour winner a taste of his own medicine.

Smirked Woods on Tuesday, relating to the remarks of the guy nicknamed Gonzo: "I feel exactly the same way he does. I think he's beatable."

Woods said there was a day when smack lit a fire under his posterior. That's not so much the case anymore. After all, given what has transpired the past two years, he's doubtlessdly got a thicker skin. He even self-edited a comment when he compared opinions to a certain anatomical area.

"As I've matured and gone beyond that, it's just an opinion, it's their own opinion," he said. "Everyone has a (pause) 'hole,' and it's just like that."

The self-censorship generated a pretty good laugh, since everybody got the point without the actual profanity.

"That's kind of how I look at it, it's their prerogative, it's their opinion," he said. "What matters is how I go out and play and how I'm progressing in my game.  At the end of the day when I'm retired, I think I will have mastered a pretty good record."

Woods is a three-time event champion, also a former runner-up, and has a 32-8 mark in the Accenture, far and away the most wins of anybody in tournament history. In 11 tries, only twice has Woods been upset in the first round.

Woods is seeded fifth in his bracket and the Spaniard is seeded 12th.

Tiger Woods responds to 'beatable' comments

First of all.  Have you ever heard of Wi-Fi or a laptop, or a blackberry?  Just because one goes skiing at a world class ski resort doesn't mean one has to lose touch with the world wide web -  Secondly - I don't "open up" to people that interrogtate me like a detective to try to detect some incomsistency and start saying that everything was a Howling lie, blah blah blah.  I just returned from a snowy retreat at my business partner's incredible mountain home at a world class ski resort.  I have thighs like Erik Heiden now.  My left knee is like a grapefruit, but stable.  I had NO falls.  The one epic Wide World of Sports 50 yard wipe out was my only fall of the season .....so far.... still some action to be had before Spring is here -  :)

I might even share a picture if I can be assured you won't track me down, then come screw my dog, and eat it's intestines.

Tiger Woods responds to 'beatable' comments

Stumpy is nothing more than a toy.  Having a serious chat with a guy who believes Aruba is part of the USA couldn't be anything but light-hearted.

The only thing that's interesting about him are his lies. They really are outstanding.  As you can see I'm trying to get him to open up abouit his skiing trip to Lake Tahoe .  He said he left to ski on Monday and he was on here posting all week.

I remind him he was  meant to be skiing all week  and he goes mute for two days and  now says the skiing was GREAT!!

   Stunning stuff.

Nokogoatscrewer - You just choose to ignore greatness because you can't see the greatness through the racist hatred that you have for Tiger Woods.  If it was one of your Eurotrash heroes that had a similar scandal to Tigers you be howling about boys being boys, and what studs Europeeons were.  "They have to have their Pints and their Brooods".

You act like you're some kind of chior boy, when you bang sheep like dogs for entertainment.  You could care less how Tiger treated his wife and kids.  Did you say a peep when Faldo was devastaing his three wives?  Or any other athlete thathas done the same.  You hated Tiger Woods the day he won the Masters in '97.  You were seething with pure Scottish racist hatred.  You're like most from your part of the world.  You're a hateful racist, cheap, ugly pig that eats shi* and has relations with farm animals.  You are disgusted that Tiger, a black guy, can dominate the lilly white world of golf.  Admit it.  You HATE Tiger.  You hate him because he's black.

Lanny, don't knock Westwood, he plays very well considering his substantial birth defect.

JayHawk: Phil never plays this event, at least not after the first couple of times where he got obliterated. Kinda like how Woods avoids Riviera, doesn't suit him.

Tiger Woods responds to 'beatable' comments

Here we have a true Woods fan at his glorious best.  The Stumpy creature gives us the lovefest treatment.

Woods is a three-time event champion, also a former runner-up, and has a 32-8 mark in the Accenture, far and away the most wins of anybody in tournament history. In 11 tries, only twice has Woods been upset in the first round.

But being a Woods Only clown tosses in the "just in case" comment.

That being said, it's never a complete shock when a 12 seed beats a 5.

    Stumpy, you really are pathetic.

noko, you need to change that avatar before talking about people marrying their cousin. "That man with you, is that your husband or your father?" "Yes"
