Good news if you’re one of the many golf fans that love seeing the Doral Golf and Spa Resort at its absolute best, because the Trump Organization, run by that wacky man with the crazy hair, completed a purchase of four of the five courses on Monday.

Trump bought the resort for a reported $150 million, and plans to spend the next two years renovating the resort to make it, as he says, “the finest resort and golf club in the country.”

Why the purchase? Because Doral was struggling, filing for bankruptcy in February of 2011, and Trump swooped in to help get it back to the great resort it once was.

What does this mean for golf fans? Just that another great staple on our golfing map will once again be in as incredible shape as possible, and continue to attract some of the best golfers in the world for their annual hosting of the CA Championship.

And honestly, who doesn’t love a little Trump with their golf?

Why do you care? Did you lend him money that was discharged in bankruptcy? If not, be quiet because it doesn't concern you.

So, when does the name change from "Doral" to <strong>"Donaled Trumps Best Friggin Golf Course on Earth"</strong> officially take place?

Trump has made bad deals before, and he's filed bankruptcy.

The game of golf lost 4.6 million players in 2010 and courses are closing all across the country.

I guess The Donald has money to burn.

Haters remind me of "Grumpy Smurf" back in the day. He hated everything, even things that were good.

If this continues or adds to the enjoyment of the regular golf fan, then kudos to Donald Trump. As for him making money, it's getting rather boring and downright tiring to hear from all the whiners in this Country about someone getting richer. I'm sure the people he employees either directly or indirectly have few complaints. Looking forward to watching the WGC at the Blue Monster this year and for many years to come - thanks to the Donald.

they tell you they arent making money after all their business deductions and tax breaks that may be true. but when you wipe the slate clean they are making money on top of the money thats being written off as a loss.  thats the system....isnt it great? but a person like you or i has too pay all that money back where big biz doesnt.

For a guy who has so much money, it would be nice if he would stop filing for bankruptcy.  I really don't care that his casinos are failing, there are a lot of other people out there that need the option of bankruptcy more than he does.  Rich getting richer...this country needs a solid dose of reality.
