Just when we thought the Navy SEALS story about Tiger Woods was dead, GolfDigest.com revealed even more from the upcoming Hank Haney book and it’s even more intense than you think.

"The Big Miss" is the upcoming Haney account of his time with Tiger, and while the book hasn’t hit the stores yet, pieces keep leaking and it just gets juicier and juicer.

So we know that Tiger thought about becoming a Navy SEAL, but how intense was he? According to the book, incredibly. Tiger went on multiple training sessions with the SEALS, and even did a three-day parachute training session just 18 days before the 2006 U.S. Open, which prompted the following e-mail from Haney to Woods.

With the U.S. Open 18 days away, do you think it was a good idea to go on a Navy SEALs mission? You need to get that whole SEALs thing out of your system and stick to playing Navy SEAL on the video games. I can tell by the way you are talking and acting that you still want to become a Navy SEAL. Man, are you crazy? You have history to make in golf and people to influence and help. Focus on your destiny, and that isn't flushing bad guys out of buildings in Iraq. Just play the video games some more. That Navy SEAL stuff is serious business. They use real bullets.

The four page excerpt on GolfDigest.com has even more about his infatuation with the SEALS, saying Tiger went as far as to play SEALS-based video games for days on end and even told Haney they’d make an age-exception for him if he wanted to join, but your best bet is to head over to their site and read the whole thing for yourself.

Tiger might have dismissed questions about this last week, but the more information that comes out, the more he’s going to get the random reporter wondering just how far he was willing to take this idea before he finally snubbed it.

More info comes out about Tiger and the SEALS

Hey RoboD411! Thanks for setting me straight bro. I'm 37 years old and was contemplating a career as a Navy SEAL til you straightened me out. I just thought I could show up in some Naval Base and proclaim my desire to be in Special Forces and I would be taking out some Arab bad guys by Memorial Day. My wife is a bit upset because she was ready to kick my butt out anyway and then you deliver this bombshell that I can't go play G.I. Joe and must stay home with her. Thanks for being a real downer!

Is everyone missing this point:  All these stories make it sound like if Tiger decided he wanted to be a Navy Seal, they would open the doors and take him right in.  That's not how it works people!   He would have to join the Navy, go to boot camp, then go to school for whatever specialty he chose when he signed up, then get assigned to a duty station.  Then, later, he might get recommended to try out for the seals if he wanted to.  You can't just "sign up" to be a Navy Seal.  Also, it's very different to play Navy Seals on a video game than to go through what the applicants do.  Almost all of the applicants are as good of athletes as Tiger, with many in a lot better shape than him, and the vast majority don't make it.  And that's just the physical side.  The mental toughness needed to make it is extreme.  I'm not sure he's tough enough.  The bottom line is, this is only a story because of his celebrity.  If it was anyone else, it would have been dismissed a long time ago.

DAMN! If Tiger had become a SEAL, we would be out of Afghanistan by now and Iraq would be a distant Memory in our country's consciense. WAIT! Maybe the cheetah can lead us to victory in our pursuit of defeating the evil Iranians.

Tiger as a SEAL is laughable.  The guy has shown that the only time he was "strong" mentally is when everything was going his way.  NO WAY on earth he could cut it mentally as a SEAL.

Last time I checked Tiger was about to be a Billionaire.  Haney,  what is your problem.  If you were a Billionaire wouldn't you kinda want to do what you wanted to do?  Besides flat out nerds no one is going to read your book if it wasn't for your notes about Tiger.

From Wikipedia:

"A 2006 study of two pairs of identical twins, in which one twin used anabolic steroids and the other did not, found that in both cases the steroid-using twin exhibited high levels of aggressiveness, hostility, anxiety, and paranoid ideation not found in the "control" twin."
