Deciphering Beanie being "doubtful"

He got on the plane didn't he? He's going to dress, right?

I have spent the better part of two weeks calling Jim Tressel a sandbagger. That is defined by someone who makes a situation sound worse than it is. I don't know how to read this latest news.

Ohio State practices before getting on a plane to L.A. on Thursday. It is determined that Beanie Wells is doubtful for the USC game. I'll believe it when I see it. If the Beanster doesn't play write down Terrelle Pryor as Ohio State's best running back. The three on the depth chart won't be able to get it done against USC's defense.

There is lot's to analyze here:

If Ohio State is blown out do pollsters give it a break for not having its best player?

Can the remaining running backs compensate for the loss of Wells?

Is there any doubt that Pryor is now the man for the Ohio State offense? If I'm Pete Carroll I start bringing blitzes until Ohio State proves they can stop them. Even if the running backs break the line of scrimmage on a draw or something USC's defense has the recovery speed to track them down.

Good luck, Todd Boeckman you're going to need it.

Can I adjust my prediction based on this latest news? USC 27, Ohio State 13

Frankly, I'm tired of this soap opera. Let's play the game.

If Ohio U. can push your defense around on your field, then USC will push you back to Columbus. Four interceptions,a fumble and a punt return and you still had to get a lead in the fourh quarter in Columbus!!!

Yes I am biased when I see teams who breeze through weak conferences and win consecutive conference titles play like they can be beat by an average high school team. That bias gets worse when they are rewarded with top 3 rankings every year while the rest of the country has to play every game. Maybe all the USC haters and Ohio State haters are jealous of your easy domination and very favorable rankings when you lose to teams who score on your great defenses at will. Illinois and Stanford on your fields for example. USC hung 48 points on that same team that beat your same returning NFL bound players. So if they hung 48 on the team that beat your "relevant" charmin all americans, why not? The same Florida and LSU NFL players will also bust their mouths when they get there. So at least they have a chance to get beat again on Sunday's on a regular basis by all the former players they lost to already. That is not biased just better players. I don't think they have stats. for how many pancakes your defense took.

LSU had a number of star players suspended and hurt for the BCS. Dorsey was only 80 % as your Wells is for your only game to play this year. That being said, please watch the game sober this time. OSU, USC and Georgia have won a lot of games being behind in stats. They have also lost some dominating in stats., so your reaching for redemption for all that talent is ridiculous.  Points don't show how many times LSU could have scored or how slow your buckeyes were. Your all american linebacker could not even tackle a Ohio U. QB one on one. He was chasing all that game and stayed on his back against LSU. He looked good once you got ahead(Ohio U.) and he could drop back. I don't they they ever had a lead in the LSU game. HMMMMMMMM

You may have a good team in the Big 10 but Miami played as badly as you did in the last two big games. The funny part is you still had to go to double overtime and win on a bad call. I wonder if that was another Pac 10 official calling a big game. We might want to check that out. Did Miami play an easy schedule or get the love you guys do?

Oh! History for both your schools have given you domination over very bad teams. It is just a biased media who love to rank and pick you based on the bias you two have little chance of losing in "conference" play. Those games are suppose to be your hardest not your easiest. That is where a bias saves your schools and allows two rested teams to be beat by Texas, LSU and Florida. Give that same amount of chances to the other schools in other conferences and they would hold more titles too. They (USC and Ohio State) would also need to  play a championship and have to play a decent conference that had a chance to beat them.  That is where you should focus your claims on the two school biased media love.

That is why this is called the Media Bowl. That is why most of this country and true NCAA football fans are getting more biased every day. I come back to this site because I love laughing at people who do not know what biased perception is. It's fun to vent is it not. My team has stunk against Florida, Tenn. and others in our conference. They have history against us. Who has history of domination against Ohio State and USC over the last decade in their respected conferences? That is why we are tired of sweater vests and Trojans playing all their championships at home. We would love those advantages with the most talent the media claims in the country you two have every year.

Reply to all the Buckeye Bashing. Sounds like a lot of jealosy out there towards the Buckeyes. I mean ok they lost two NCG in a row, but the point being missed is that they were in two NCG in a row, and don't forget the NCG a few years back against Miami. Heavy underdogs going in; the media claiming the Buckeyes shouldn't even be on the same field with the mighty Hurricanes of Miami. How did that turn out?

The game last week against Ohio University is by no means an indication of what kind of team will show up in California this Saturday. Ohio State has over half their starters returning from last years team that DID play in a NCG. A lot of the seniors turned down NFL careers to return for one purpose; to win a National Championship. so don't even think that they are going to lay down for this game. It will be a closer game than all the Buckeye bashers and media are predicting, and don't be to surprised if the Buckeyes are 3-0 after this weekend.

A trash touchdown with a minute left?  Didn't LSU score a trash touchdown like two minutes before that?  It comes back to the same 14-point margin.  And believe me, every Ohio State fan knows their team shouldn't have been anywhere near the championship game last year, they were rebuilding and its not their fault that EVERYONE ELSE lost to bad teams.

And seriously, they lost two national title games in a row to two very good teams.  Which other "big games" did they lose?  A program's reputation isn't built on just two games.  Stop hating.

Gadawgs - They lost five straight to USC with better teams?  They haven't played since 1974!  How is that even a relevant statistic?  Its like the 0-9 vs SEC in bowl games stat - only two of those games are relevant to these players/coaches/etc.

You honestly believe USC could score 48 or 56 points on Ohio State?  I see your posts all over this site, you are as biased as they come.  If Ohio State gets blown out, it will be something like 28-7; their offense may struggle, no way does USC put more than 31 on them.

I can deal with the grammatical inadequacies so prevalent on fan-driven message boards.  But does anyone edit Dodd's blogs?  Or do they just throw these things on here unchecked?  He's a professional writer, right?

I have to question the content of this one, too.  For a situation that contains so much to "analyze," Dodd says very little.  I'm not even sure why he wrote anything.  Guess he just wanted to modify his prediction.

The NCG last year was a blowout OSU only outgained LSU by 27 total yards, but the score got to 38-17 and the Buckeyes got a late trash touchdown with 1minute 13 seconds left with the game already out of hand. And as far as a bad break here and a stupid play there costing the Buckeyes, that happens in every big game so anyone can say that about there team losing a game.

So sick of seeing how OSU got "blown out" in previous two NC games. Even people siding with the Buckeyes are saying it when the truth is they didn't. They got blown out by Florida, no doubt about that, but not by LSU by any means. OSU had more yards than LSU had, usually a team that blows out another manages to rack up quite a bit more yards than their opposition. Ohio State won by 12 against Ohio last week (almost as much as the 14 LSU beat OSU by) and I don't think anyone would say OSU blew out Ohio, just the opposite in fact, the Buckeyes got out played. All it boils down to is narrow minded morons not realizing that the score doesn't always tell the whole story and people writing articles based on their personal opinions not on facts. A bad break here and stupid play there cost the buckeyes that game last year, not the "SEC dominating speed". What a joke.

Whether Wells is in the game full-time, limited or not at all I do not see this game even being close.  USC is too fast and the Fu#keyes have obviously shown in their last two Bowl Games, NCG's too, that they cannot handle speed.  Just thank God that it is not another SEC team to put it on them.

Prediction:  Beanie is on the field and even runs well, that is as well as can against a good SC Defense.  No help though as SC wins big 34-13.  Just one man's opinion.  Oh I should mention, I like SC maybe one short hair more than OSU, lets hope you both beat the he1l out of each other!
