Quit messin' with us Tress

Is doubtful the new maybe?

Are toes really needed to play football?

Jim Tressel continues to mess with the minds of his fans, the media and USC. Late Thursday he said Beanie Wells was doubtful only if the game was played that day. A lot of good that does us, Tress, because THE GAME IS SATURDAY.

By the way, I'm getting on a plane for L.A. this morning. It's "probable" that I'll get there. Just so you know.

Now on a Friday morning talk show Tressel says Beanie might play "sparingly or not at all." Well, at least he's nailed it down.

This means USC should count on Wells getting 37 carries. I'm as sick of writing about this as you are reading it. Can't wait for the next Nelson DeMille novel for some REAL suspense.

I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Dennis Dodd's nickname is "Cassells".

Stop obsessing!  LMAO!

I agree, and do you really think it matters to USC whether he plays or not.  Sure would a few more yards than his backups, but PC has USC prepared for Wells and Pryor starting and playing the entire game.  If they don't play, it's just a bit easier on the defense, but the game plan doesn't change all that much.

Even if Beanie Wells is able to play on Saturday night he won't help the Over-rated State University get a win against USC. Especially if they play like they did against Ohio last week. I am just sick and tired of hearing about how good OSU is and after they lose on Saturday night I hope everyone stops talking about how they "should" make it back to the BSC championship game. Plus they still have to win the Big 10 and that might be tougher than some think as they still play @ Illinois, @ Wisconsin, and Penn State. So the Over-rated State University might lose more than just one game this season and not be able to sneak their way into the title game.

I agree with Dodd.  I don't know why everything has to be cloaked in secrecy by tOSU.

Oh well....can't wait.

Dodd as usual you are an IDIOT! Are toes needed to play football?  Have you ever played a sport in your life?  And you completely took Tress's comment out of context.  He was asked a question by Greenie and he said he didn't know if he would play sparringly or not at all.  How do you still have a job?

I think it is great...Everyone is focused on Beanie, and not the team.  Tressel can't tell you that Beanie is 100% because he's not...He won't tell you he's not playing because if he's ready to go for Saturday then he'll play.  I don't know if I've seen the media so focused on one player like this.  Even if Tressel isn't playing mind games...this works out perfect to make the game that much more interesting.

I think Beanie plays in the red zone... That is where tOSU always seems to struggle and settle for field goals. I think Pryor, Saine, Boom, and Mo Wells provide the rushing attack between the 20's and Beanie comes in as part their new ponyback set with Saine or the I in the red zone. Either way the Buckeyes will compete and play hard. I truly believe they can win, with or without Beanie because of defense, solid special teams, and solid QB play. I also think Pryor will finally have his chance to make some throws and be a difference maker. If he shows up and we can rattle Sanchez early I think OSU wins 24 - 21.

Maybe Tressel keeps commenting on it because the media keeps asking him about it.  It's probably the first 5 questions out of every reporters mouth the second they talk to sweater vest.  Maybe Wells really is injured and he's telling the truth.  I mean come on, anyone who has ever played sports has suffered an injury and not known whether they could play or not until game day.  I guarantee USC is preparing for OSU as if they will have Wells for 35 carries beacuse if he's not in the game, then they still prepared for the best OSU has so what does it matter.  Bottom line is if you don't want to hear Tressel say maybe, or doubtful or whatever then stop asking him about the injury.
