turner gill at buffalo should be the man for the job. hes got the recruiting ties and the man can coach. hes young energetic and could stick around a while long enough to build things back up to where they used to be.

While I certainly would not blame the woes of the Raiders on Kiffin, I don't think there is much credible evidence to back up the statement that he has "done good things" either.  And USC hasn't suffered because of Kiffin's absence, they have suffered because of Norm Chow's absence.  Or, perhaps, simply because of Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and Lendale White's absences.  I actually think the USC play calling is better now under Sark than it was when Kiffin and Sark were doing the cohabitational thing.  Of course, I have already erased last week's debacle completely from my internal hard drive....but the play calling against Ohio State was actually very good.  Kiffin may be a good head coach at some level some day...but I wouldn't be rushing out to hire him right now.  I want to see him prove himself again as a coordinator somewhere first.

Syracuse would be wise to get Kiffin, he has been doing good things with the Raiders. He is young and ever since he left the USC coaching staff there has been a noticable difference in play calling and a lack of big plays.

Dennis:  the rumbling in the Big East is that Lloyd Carr has attended the last 2 Syracuse games.  Not sure how you could hide his presence from all 57 fans in the Carrier Dome, but that is the rumor.  There is no doubt that Syracuse is a program that Carr could quickly bring back to relevence before calling it a career.  Not sure what the tie-in might be, but Carr already knows the recruiting circles in the region.  Michigan routinely gets kids from NY, NJ, OH, PA and the rest of the North East.

A. There is no doubt he can coach

B. He has roots in NY both Central and Long Island. Coupled with his established connections in Florida it should lead to better recruiting for the Orange

I am not sure he would want to leave Orlando being that UCF is a better team right now then Syracuse. However SU is fortunate enough to be in a BCS conference.

Hopefully the prodigal son might want to return and help rebuild the university where he began his college career.

If not O'leary, Marrone or Kelly would make solid selections. Lane Kiffin is unproven and his USC connections will likely have little impact in the NorthEast.
