The Birmingham News is reporting that Tommy Tuberville is out.

I'm not going there yet. Tuberville's job, though, does seem to be hanging be a thread.

"That would be accurate," a source told me Wednesday afternoon.

Tubs has spoken to both AD Jay Jacobs and president Jay Gogue since Monday. But it's clear the school isn't waiting around. It has contacted both Mike Leach and Bobby Petrino. Also, Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp told the school no. Auburn may have contacted Steve Spurrier as well.

At this moment, Auburn's top choices seem to be Petrino and Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson. Petrino might be tough to pry loose from Arkansas. He apparently has a non-compete clause in his contract that could be expensive to get out of.

Russ Campbell, Petrino's agent, said he has not been contacted by Auburn and that his client is not a candidate "for any hypothetical opening" Auburn may have.

Also watch for Florida State's Jimbo Fisher to get a call. He has ties to the school.

Tubs out?

thats the thing most fans have against Bammer's, they are the worst winners in college football.  They have 1 good year in the last decade and they are the best thing going.  "Pride cometh before the Fall"

Tubs out?

Could be a good thing, TT was looking very disinterested for a long time.  I think we need to look for a "Wood chopper"  like Schiano @ Rutgers or Levy @ South Florida.  Anyone like those guys?

i am not sure where you guys go from here.  i feel bad for tubs though, he has done a lot for au, and i think deserved another year.  good luck in the search.  i dont think it will be a guy you mentioned, only because i think au fans will demand someone dynamic and explosive.

Tubs out?

So Long Ears! Another Victim of Saban's Rampage!

See ya Ears!  You just add to the list of other coaching casualty of the Crimson Tide's march through the regular season!  You make 4!

Tommy Bowden - Fired
Sly Croom - "Resigned" (come on)
"Fat" Phil Fulmer - Fired
Tommy "Ears" Tuberville - Fired

What an asinine statement!  This is the reason so many fans, even those that don't pull for Auburn, hate bammer fans.  You think these coaches are gone because of Saban???  Take a look..... they were all having issues before saban even considered coaching bama for the money.

It's been one hell of a season!  I'd like to see where those last two wind up, I'd be willing to bet it isn't in the SEC!

What about Leach?

Rumor is that Leach is talking to Washington and as such indicated the he's available.  As much as I'd hate to see him got to the Aubies, he's the best choice out there.
