Florida preseason No. 1

That does it for me. Florida is the preseason No. 1 for 2009.

Tim Tebow assured his team of that fact when he told 40,000 people Sunday in Gainesville that he is coming back for his senior season. Why not? A year from now he is still going to be a questionable NFL quarterback. TT said he got mixed reviews from NFL types.

What did he expect? The guy doesn't exactly throw a spiral each time. He'll never have the weapons he has offensively at Florida in the NFL. It's the right idea to come back. A second Heisman and third national championship won't hurt his draft prospects or desire to play quarterback in the pros.

Tebow comes that latest Tyler Hansbrough or Matt Leinart or Peyton Manning who are coming back because they love everything about college.

You go, Tim. We'll see you and the Gators in Pasadena next year.

Florida with Tim Tebow coming back is going to be loaded.I think they could win a another national title again next year in my  opoion they could go undeafted or close to it. And the sec is the strongest conference in the nation by far

One problem, OU loses 4 OL, at least one receiver in Iglesias, and Sam Bradford(who is projected in the top 10).  UT loses next to nothing, and we beat them this year, not too worried about OU.  OSu will be the team to watch for spoiler next year.

Dodd - my seven-year-old daughter could have made this prediction. Why not go out on a limb and guess who will be the worse team in Division I next year.  You might have to do some searching for that one.

Suicidaire - Can the Horns get to the conference Championship next year?  Look out for OU to mess that dream up.

Ooh, way to go out on a limb Dodd.

On another note, I know I'm not the only one who's sick of hearing about how the solar system revolves around the bright center that is Tebow, but for me it goes beyond that.

Am I the only one who notices that everything he does/says is so calculated and pre-packaged that it's hard to believe there is a sincere bone in his body?

He's not the meek, humble "servant of The Lord" he is always putting himself out there to be.  He is coming back to college because of his ego, period.  He wants to be thought of as the greatest player in college football history.  He wants to be a mulitple Heisman winner.  He wants to be a legend who transcends sport.  Just look at that smug look on his face when he did Gator Nation the favor of being their Lord and Savior for one more season.

If he really wants the "bigger stage to spread the word" and to mission to poor kids, then why isn't he going for the multiple-millions he would be guaranteed if he came out now???  And why wouldn't he be content to play whatever position they wanted him to?  Instead, he's going to put himself above the team and the game so he can play QB, just because he likes it better than TE?!?

He must know that it will never be as good for him in the NFL.  This is his apex and he's going to milk it for everything he can.  Maybe he can fool some scouts into thinking he's an NFL QB by winning another championship next year.
