Lane Kiffin accuses Urban Meyer of cheating!

It's on in the SEC East! Actually when isn't it on?

You've got to see this video from Thursday morning with Tennessee's Lane Kiffin accusing Florida's Urban Meyer of cheating. Kiffin says that Meyer called receiver Nu'Keese Richardson on his cellie while the kid was visiting Tennessee.

One problem: I checked with a compliance director at another school and she couldn't find anything wrong with what Meyer allegedly did.

"I've never heard of that," she said of Kiffin's accusation being a violation. "That would surprise me. As long as it's permissible on the recruiting calendar, it should be OK."

A story posted a Tennessee TV station's website says: "Football coaches are not permitted to contact a prospect while his on an official visit to another school's campus." Hey, it's on a TV station's website so it has to be accurate, right?

Oh, one other thing. How could Meyer be "cheating" if Richardson wasn't supposed to be at Tennessee in the first place? Kiffin adds that the receiver said, "he wasn't even coming to visit us."

Anything to work the crowd. There's a lot of bitter fruit here. Richardson had apparently committed to Florida in May. Kiffin is going Ernest Angley on us, taking the message, preacher-style, to the orange-coated streets. Meyer is the devil and Kiffin is going to drive him out. The K-Man might be good at playing to a crowd but what goes around, comes around. I seem to recall that Tennessee has to visit Gainesville this year and The Urban Legend does not take slights well. Anybody remember the payback for the Gator Stomp?

Count on another couple of extra touchdowns dropped on you in September, Lane. You're preaching to the choir now. The devil will get his due -- later.

Lane Kiffin accuses Urban Meyer of cheating!

Yeah, we should let this slide until the third week of the season!

He had the kid lie about where he was in the first place. In the second place it's not a violation. And in the third place, if the kid wants to go you can bet Urban would say see ya and get ready for a beating!

If he wanted to visit UT then why not just come out and say it?

I won't be surprised when the NCAA starts poking around Rocky Top again in a few years that they come up with something more substantial than the last time. This guy needs to get his facts straight before he goes off with his mouth.

Somebody needs to keep a watch on Richardson's family to see if they get new jobs anywhere near Knoxville. It's slightly farther to visit UT to watch your son play than the 3-4 hour drive to the swamp. Hey but maybe I'm wrong there, the kid just has always been a secret Vol commit.

Lane drops one kid the weekend before and then snags Keese! Wow what a coincidence. With a start like this, you gotta be careful which direction your program is heading. Alabama already doesn't like UT, SC and SOS love to beat up on Rocky Top, and now you go calling the NC winning head coach a cheater. Bring your facts, son or shut up!

It doesn't matter.....Kiffin will find out how SEC football is played when he visits Gainesville this September and when Georgia visits Neyland and the Vols head to Tuscaloosa in October. Heck....Auburn out recruited UT this year and he was on the job longer than coach Chyzick.

Grow up Kiffin.  I hate Florida almost as much as I hate Oklahoma but this is crap.  Kiffin need to just shut his mouth and try to coach Tennessee out of the hole they dug last year.  Sounds like Al Davis rubbed off on him a little.

Kiffin is dog meat! You don't poke the bear unless you can run. Ut unfortunately cannot! I see a woodshed beating coming. It will not be pretty and there is no mercy rule in college football. I see Meyer standing with one foot on Kiffin's throat and the othe on his crotch.

Let's not forget, Kiffin took a swipe at Saban too. Guess what two raod games Kiffin has this year? Yup, UF and Bama!

I give Kiffin two maybe three years! He'll be flipping humburgers by the time he is 39!

Apparently some of the posters here don't realize that Nukeese lied to Coach Meyer and told him that he WASN'T going to visit Tennessee, so Meyer probably did call him, thinking that Richardson was at home like he told him.  Lane Kiffen is going to get his ass kicked annually now and it won't be pretty.  What a douchebag.

Hey aucub, get your facts straight. Norm Chow was the OC at USC when Leinart, Bush & White were there. When they went NFL, so did Chow, to the Titans. Don't ever remember Kiffin being referred to as a "genius" either...and Davis looks as wacko as he EVER did. He's the only owner who makes J Jones look sane, and I was a Raider fan until he dropped off the deep end...

No it wasn't a violation.  Bylaw 13 of the NCAA manuel speaks to permissible recruiting activities.  While there is a limit on the number of telphone calls that can be placed to a prospect during the week and who can call a prospect on the athletic staff, there is nothing in the rule book that would prevent a coach from calling a recruit while on a visit at another campus.  That would require coaches to keep track of what all of their recruits are doing on a daily basis.  The NCAA has a lot of rules, but they don't go that far.
