Tim Tebow is "Ok" according to a text sent to by his father late Saturday.

Bob Tebow texted, "He is OK," after repeated requests about his son's condition. Tebow was taken to a local hospital after being hit Saturday night during a 41-7 victory at Kentucky. Earlier a source told that Tebow as "laughing and joking" and should be OK after showing concussion-like symptoms.

Tim Tebow was being held overnight for observation. Further reports stated that a CT scan showed no bleeding on the brain and that Tebow had suffered what was termed "a bad concussion."

Coach Urban Meyer intimated after the game that his star had a concussion after being hit by defensive end Taylor Wyndham. The back of Tebow's head then bounded off a teammate's knee. Tebow was seen on camera vomiting into a bag while being taken off the field, possibly a sign of a concussion.

It is known that after after an initial concussion, victims are more susceptible to concussions thereafter. Tebow has been one of the most resilient players in the country. In the last two games alone, Tebow has carried a combined 40 times.

The concern now is for Tebow's future. He, along with three teammates, flew late to Lexington because was what was described as a respiratory condition. Tebow didn't play like he was sick accounting for 226 yards in total offense before leaving.

Tebow will not have to be ready until Oct. 10 when Florida travels to LSU. The Gators have a bye week on Oct. 3.

The latest on Tebow from his father

are you serious, what if Pryor got laid out? oh wait i'm sorry that would probably be good for your team.  If your quarterback or anyone one your team actually lived up to their hype they would be on sportcenter just as much as tebow.  I'm a big fan of "get the injured off the field and keep playing the game", but when someone goes to the hospital it is cause for concern.  Praying for tebow here and praying osu might actually live up to their hype one day.

To all you Tebow and Christian Haters

Get a real life.  You clicked on the story, nobody told you to.  If you don't want to know anything about Tebow or his Christian beliefs, don't watch him, don't read about him.  Its your choice and your right.  Just like it's my right to say that you are an uneducated imbecile for taking the time to write anything negative about a person that is way better than you could ever hope to be.  May the lord have mercy on your soul...I doubt anyone else will.

Because he DIDN'T just get his bell rung. It was a potential serious head and neck injury from a very legal hit. Just because you hate Tebow is no reason to be so whiny. Any player that had an injury that looked like that would have been all over TV. Just because the media loves him  is no reason for you to hate him. Try to be a decent human being. Does he have to die for you all to stop acting like complete a$$holes?

I heard that it is just a concussion and hope that is correct. So I am sure the media will begin to let it go. Wonder how you would be acting if it was Pryor though. Because the media has way over-hyped him too, and he hasnt deserved a lick of it yet. But Florida fans aren't always whining about how much they hate him. Funny how that is. The only people that make outrageous comments about Tebow walking on water and all are the ones that don't like him. maybe you support your team and leave others alone.

Go gators!!!!

Add me to the long list of people that are very tired of the media worship of Tebow.

Very glad to hear he is ok, and hopefully will not be out long.  I don't want to see anyone hurt, and he is clearly a very good kid, and people shouldnt allow the disgusting media worship make them think otherwise.

Be interesting to see how he comes back against LSU.  Les Miles will be dialing up some blitzes to be sure, and I'm sure the LSU crowd will greet him pleasantly....maybe even give him some get well calls  : )

Perhaps there is so much attention because Tebow has NEVER been one to be laying flat on his back not moving.  He has been something of force - a freak of nature.  As a sophomore he led UF over FSU in a romp with a broken right hand.  He has played through injuries and illnesses.

Second, perhaps you do not understand, but the media puts out what sells.  All of you complaining about the reporting have selected the page with the title "The Latest on Tebow from his father".  Most people care what happens to players.  Whether you hate him or not, Tim Tebow is a Heisman Trophy winner, the quarterback of the number one team in the nation, owner of two national championship rings (2 of the last 3), and quite possibly the face of college football.  With all this to consider, it makes sense that the media report on him, because people will read about it - both his many fans (including football and non-football fans) and the many who hate him for some strange reason.

Third, head injuries are dangerous.  A blow to the head - even one that seems minor can be very serious.  There could have been serious complications associated with this injury.  There could be swelling of the brain and or bleeding that would require surgery to relieve the pressure.  Concussions are strange.  One person can get one and never have any long-lasting effects.  Another can get one and it end their career.

Finally, being a QB on a D-1 team comes with some level of reporting.  Had this been McCoy, Bradford, or Barkley the media would be giving this the same amount of attention.  After all we still get a good bit of information on Bradford and his shoulder injury.  We got a good bit of info for the first few days after the injury.  Fans of the team, of Bradford, and of college football want to know if the kid is all right.  How many reports were there on Barkley of USC after the OSU game and going into the Washington game?  How much speculation has there been about what would have happened if Barkley had been healthy?

Here is hoping and praying Tebow is fine and recovers fully.  Here is hoping - however futile the hope is - that you complainers and haters get something better to do than hate on Tebow and the coverage this young man gets.

I agree - he is just a player, why all the hub bub.  But if a former Hiesmen trophy winner and the QB for last years national champions and currently the #1 ranked team in the nation does not deserve media attention on a college football Saturday, then we should never see a thing about the Ohio State program on the news - EVER.  Last I checked, you guys helped us make history by getting thumped in football and basketball by the Gators.  They owe you a lot of thanks!  Beat USC every once in a while and you guys will make the news.  Come join the SEC and they will talk about you.

I'm with you dude. Personally I'm looking forward to going to the dome again and watching the Gators and the Tide compete for a spot in the championship game. Last year was a blast. I was in the Tide section and you all were awesome, back & forth game and when it was over nothing but respect and support for a win against OU.
