Oregon wins!

If we’re going to give LeGarrette Blount a second chance, we’re going to have to vote Oregon above Boise. It’s not a hard and fast rule in these cases. It’s who is playing better at the moment. Boise won the opener when Oregon was at the absolute bottom. Now they’re coming off one of the biggest wins in their history. Oregon over Boise in the polls, and hopefully the BCS.

Absolutely not

If you want to maintain the farce that the season is a playoff (it's not, otherwise last year's title game would have been Utah-Boise), you cannot put a team ahead of the undefeated team that beat them. If Boise loses a game, sure. But what "would happen" if they played again is irrelevant. They already played. Boise won. They stay ahead until they lose.

Oregon wins!

GH-Mongo  Its pretty sad when you think about it. Could you imagine that in the basketball tourney you beat a team in the first round and make it to the final four and then a computer reseeded you after the regionals and since you had a weaker ooc schedule then the team you beat in round 1 you are going home and that team takes your place in the final four. Boise State is gonna get one of the worse screwings of all time. You could see announcers getting you ready for it after only beating Tulsa by 7 on the road. They kept reminding us of how bad Oklahoma beat Tulsa and by some twisted logic Boise should have beaten them 45-0 too. Its an easy out for the powers that be. They just say thats what the computers say.

Oregon wins!

Great game for Oregon but here comes a big screwing for Boise State. Oregon will surely jump Boise in the BCS poll and probably in the AP poll as well. It would have been one thing if Boise had beaten Oregon on a last second fg but Oregon was manhandled in that game. I don't think they had a first down in the first half and we are talking about a team that just rang up 600 yards on the mighty men of Troy. I don't doubt for a minute Oregon doesn't have a tremendous team but someone has gotta give Boise State some credit.

Oregon wins!

I want to see Boise State be successful. They are a great success story, but they do not deserve to be in a BCS bowl. They have one quality win, that should not automatical guarantee a BCS bowl. When do we draw the line. If BSU wants to prove they belong with the big boys then they need to schedule the big boys. Their out of conference games should be played against a Big 12, SEC, PAC-10, ACC, and/or Big 10 school. All four of them, not just one. They are giving a pass on their conference schedule. The BCS schools play against quality conference opponents 9 weeks out of the year. Boise State does not have a single quality conference opponent. Every other BCS school has to play and beat at least 3-4 good conference teams. When Boise State schedules 3-4 good BCS teams (instead of Miami (OH), UC Davis, and Tulsa) then we can talk about them playing for the national championship.

Oregon wins!

Great logic, because Utah routed USC and Cal by a combined 89 to 23. Perhaps if Boise State would schedule a complete out of conference schedule. Maybe they should play someone from the SEC, ACC, and Big 10 to prove they belong. Instead they schedule UC Davis, Tulsa, and Miami Ohio. Boise State's can only blame themselves for their scheduling.

Oregon wins!

Lets face it.  Boise St is a good school with a great program.  Peterson is one of the best coaches however they deserve no right to play in the title game or a BCS bowl for that matter.  They Killed my ducks but that is their only win.  I would bet that if Boise St played in the Pac 10 that they would finish 3rd at best.  Look I like Boise and I give them all their respect but the WAC.  Have Fresno and Boise St join Pac 10....

Oregon wins!

Boise State, welcome to the frustrations that Oregon has had in dealing with USC and UCLA over the years and the polls. USC can do no wrong. They always received the benefit of the doubt and any losses to Oregon were just hiccups in the force of the Universe, not really real losses. The one thing that has been consistent is that in order to be seriously regarded as a contender, it takes more than 1 early good win and a soft schedule. Fair or not, that is the reality. BSU beat the Ducks and congrats are in order but you need more than 1 big game. I can guarantee you that if Oregon beat USC early and played BSU's schedule while USC ran the table in the Pac 10, USC would be 100% guaranteed ranked above Oregon. My best advice to the loyal faithful at BSU, either pray for a playoff system or come join the Pac 10 and replace those hideous, orange and black, smelly rodents north of Eugene ... PLEASE ... I beg you!!

Oregon wins!

USC = 16, 5-Star & 48, 4-Star athletes LOSE to:

Oregon = ZERO, 5-Star, & only 25, 4-Star athletes 47-20.

Washington = ZERO, 5-Star & only 14, 4-Star athletes 16-13.

Year in and year out the most overrated team in the most overrated Conference in CFB.  Notre Dame gets it, they have purposely tried to make their schedule easier. How did they do it?

They scheduled 4 Pac 10 opponents, this year. Forty (40%) per cent of Notre Dames' victories since 2007, have come against Pac 10 teams.

There are 17, 5-Star athletes in the Pac 10... USC has 16 of them.  AZ St has other (Vonteze Burfict).  The talent differential between USC and the other Pac 10 schools is enormous... they should win every game, but never do.

Compare that to the SEC, which has 53, 5-Star and FL, AL & LSU alone have 163, 4-Star athletes.  Try to imagine how much harder it is to win a game in the SEC where you play that kind of competitionevery week with athletes on BOTH sides of the ball!

David Curtis states in The Sporting News, " Senior RB Allen Bradford's big game last week against Oregon State (15 carries, 147 yards, two TDs), plus Joe McKnight's unexpected consistent play, gives USC the nation's top running back duo."

Rushing stats: McKnight & Bradford = 114 yards, Oregon = 391 yards.

Fight On!!

Oregon wins!

The BCS is an absolute joke if Boise St goes undefeated and doesn't get a chance at a Championship. Boise St didn't play a patsie non-conference schedule to go with their second tier conference and then complain about not getting a chance. They stepped up and played a quality team out of a BCS conference, which takes balls because they don't get second chances.
They flat out beat Oregon (with Blount) fair and square , I watched the game with an unbiased eye and it wasn't a lucky win. It was a beatdown in every phase. For an Oregan fan to say they would win 8-10 if they played again is crazy.
If they wanted the championship to mean something they would revoke the Big 10 BCS status and leave that spot for a more deserving team from a lower conference. If Iowa makes it to the title game they will be no less than an 14 point underdog to whomever they play and I will be the first guy flying to Vegas to lay the points. That will say all you need to know about the "system".
As for Dodd, I think he writes his articles after a hard day of drinking and watching football. If the team doesn't play in the SEC than they couldn't possibly be any good.
Keep it up Boise your team is fun to watch, except for that nasty blue turf.

Oregon wins!

Dodds!  You are a perfect example of why we need a playoff system. When the BCS rely's on the opinion of you and those like you thru the polls, there is no way common sense can rule.  I suspect Iowa will be rated ahead of both BSU and Oregon this week and anyone who saw that game(not just the boxscore) knows why Iowa won that game!  FBS football is a joke in the current format and screams to be changed.

Hey Dodds?  Could it be, your opinion might be less relevant with a playoff system in place?  Some advise to you if thats the case- You will do far better with less relevency, because you won't have to display so many stupid idiotic opinions as much!
