If  Nu’Keese Richardson was looking to transfer out of Tennessee, he got his wish.

Division I-AA is going to look like heaven compared to prison.

By now you know that Richardson and two other Tennessee players were charged attempted armed robbery early Thursday morning. You also know that one of the alleged victims thinks it's no big deal. Hey, that's football in Tennessee.

It’s obvious that smarts were not a big part of Lane Kiffin’s first recruiting class. The three players had everything ahead of them and threw it all away. One of those charged, Mike Edwards, was coached by Ted Ginn Sr. in Cleveland. Ginn’s life has been dedicated to preparing inner city youth for a better life. This has to be a huge disappointment.

But Richardson is the name that will make headlines. He started the whole thing. Well, Kiffin started the whole thing accusing Urban Meyer of “cheating” to get Richardson out of Pahokee, Fla. Meyer didn’t cheat and, thankfully now, didn’t get Richardson.

A Tennessee football source told me earlier in the season that Richardson wasn’t getting on the field because he couldn’t be trusted yet. That was in reference to his football skills. There were rumblings that Richardson wanted to transfer.

It’s not going to be the type of transfer he thought. I can’t see any way these three don’t spend some time in prison. Kiffin surely has to kick them off the team soon, if not today.

In the short term, Tennessee will take a beating on the recruiting trail. There’s a chance that Kiffin’s first class has been gutted. We’ll see. As a whole, the Volunteers have overachieved this season. Now they’ve been betrayed by some knuckleheads.

If Tennessee does succeed it will be because of Lane daddy not anything Lane personally brings to the table.  He wouldn't be a head coach if it weren for daddy Kiffen.

kingfishvol,

My comment wasn't about the vols....

My comment was about Dennis Dodd, and his lack of objective journalism.  Lane gets his press, but if this had been the Gators Dodd would have been waiting with with hammer and nails to crucify Urban, but instead this little nugget gets a "knuckleheads" headline.  That headline screams "boys will be boys".

Do i have an opinion about what they did?  What should be the response? What should be their punishment?  How much class do the vols have because of this incident?  No absolutely not, not here and not now, and I didn't say one things against rocky top in my comment.  The only thing I stated was the arrests that UT has had over the last 4 years, which was in response to the DD comment.  Which hardly addressed my original comment.

However, you with your blinders on, started shooting off your mouth. Attacking me and my military service when I said nothing against you or your vols.  It's okay that you are apparently an angry person, and can't even differentiate between an attack on the vols and an critique of another lackluster effort by Dennis Dodd.

Is there anyone that thinks he is a good writer?  Or is a objective and fair?

As bad as I talk about Dodd, worse should be directed at the Editor who apparently stopped caring about what crap he stamps his approval on and shoves in the outbox on his desk.

PS Dodd is not a Florida alumn...

Unfortunately the other shining example of elite CBS Sports journalism Doyle/Doyel(sp?) is the Gator, but he tries so hard to prove he is unbiased that he slams the Gators just as much.

willwall, marcus camby taking money from an agent and rose cheating on his SAT doesn't make Coach Cal or anyone associated a felon. Jump on the "Calipari is a cheat bandwagon", it's getting old. Hey do you remember when Lsu was ranked number 1 in the country and Kentucky came in and beat you. That was great. GO CATS!!!

Shame on you! This man is defending our country, defending your freedom, and you bash him for which branch of the military he is enlisted in? Typical UT fan. I appreciate ANYONE in the US Armed Forces serving in ANY branch and you should do the same.

Ha, you have to love idiots making threats on a computer. I'm from Kentucky, live in South Carolina, and have driven through Tennessee many times, they all have plenty of "bucktooth rednecks" as ladd71 so inteligently put it. Reading all these post has shown me many of the ones from Tennessee. bigfishvol and ladd71 look to be the ring leaders. If you guys don't keep your players out of jail, it may be an easy game for the Cats. Add a lose to Vandy and this season isn't looking so great for the felons at ut. Please don't waste our time with ignorant post. GO CATS!!!

It's not fair to assume that these 3 players are a representation of the whole team, just like its not fair to assume Brandon Spikes' "Thug" moment was a representation of the Gator's squad. when you get a group of 50+ guys together, there are always going to be bad apples and bad decisions. Personally I hope these kids get kicked off the team, and as a Vol fan, I have nothing but respect for the Gators.
and USMC Gator, i apologize for the idiot, thank you for your service.
Go Vols!
