If  Nu’Keese Richardson was looking to transfer out of Tennessee, he got his wish.

Division I-AA is going to look like heaven compared to prison.

By now you know that Richardson and two other Tennessee players were charged attempted armed robbery early Thursday morning. You also know that one of the alleged victims thinks it's no big deal. Hey, that's football in Tennessee.

It’s obvious that smarts were not a big part of Lane Kiffin’s first recruiting class. The three players had everything ahead of them and threw it all away. One of those charged, Mike Edwards, was coached by Ted Ginn Sr. in Cleveland. Ginn’s life has been dedicated to preparing inner city youth for a better life. This has to be a huge disappointment.

But Richardson is the name that will make headlines. He started the whole thing. Well, Kiffin started the whole thing accusing Urban Meyer of “cheating” to get Richardson out of Pahokee, Fla. Meyer didn’t cheat and, thankfully now, didn’t get Richardson.

A Tennessee football source told me earlier in the season that Richardson wasn’t getting on the field because he couldn’t be trusted yet. That was in reference to his football skills. There were rumblings that Richardson wanted to transfer.

It’s not going to be the type of transfer he thought. I can’t see any way these three don’t spend some time in prison. Kiffin surely has to kick them off the team soon, if not today.

In the short term, Tennessee will take a beating on the recruiting trail. There’s a chance that Kiffin’s first class has been gutted. We’ll see. As a whole, the Volunteers have overachieved this season. Now they’ve been betrayed by some knuckleheads.

Don't know if I'd really consider Dodd a journalist, though...

Happy B'Day to the Marines, by the way!

-

You guys have had 24 arrests in four years for crying out loud! Even your local media writes about it all of the time. Yes, Tennessee has players that get in trouble as well but at least Kiffin will show he will do somehing about it when it occurs.

Tennessee is a JOKE!  That's more so now more than ever.  Big mouth, no proven experience coach, brings "Daddy" w/ him(probably for 2 years or less - the man is 100 years old!!!), doesn't understand the recruiting process or the rules surrounding them, etc...  No, his big time recruits in jail.  WOW!  You go Rocky Top - You'll soon be in the catagory with Miami and FSU.  A member of the "Thugs and Slugs" Club!!!

GO GATORS

@CA-Gator02

I can't believe a Florida fan would actually come on here and talk about UT and thugs. Take a look at your own program before you say something about any other team and thugs. Hmm... 3<24...or however many Florida has had arrested. I've lost count...

Pardon the Interruption

Sorry for the off topic post, but I was looking for the flurry of articles and blogs condemning Clemson's Andre Branch for trying to break FSU lineman David Spurlock's neck and gouge out his eyes.

Anybody know where I can find those?  Thanks in advance.

And if you can also direct me to the articles excoriating Swinney for his response to the crime, that would also be appreciated.

Some of you people have to be kidding, right.  You think these guys will get community service and a slap on the wrist.  This is considered a violent crime.  These thugs are looking at 20 years in prison.  The hell with them, what about the three kids they stuck a gun in the face of.  This pellet gun looks like a real gun, NOT A TOY.  All Tenn fans should demand these players are removed from the program FOREVER
