If  Nu’Keese Richardson was looking to transfer out of Tennessee, he got his wish.

Division I-AA is going to look like heaven compared to prison.

By now you know that Richardson and two other Tennessee players were charged attempted armed robbery early Thursday morning. You also know that one of the alleged victims thinks it's no big deal. Hey, that's football in Tennessee.

It’s obvious that smarts were not a big part of Lane Kiffin’s first recruiting class. The three players had everything ahead of them and threw it all away. One of those charged, Mike Edwards, was coached by Ted Ginn Sr. in Cleveland. Ginn’s life has been dedicated to preparing inner city youth for a better life. This has to be a huge disappointment.

But Richardson is the name that will make headlines. He started the whole thing. Well, Kiffin started the whole thing accusing Urban Meyer of “cheating” to get Richardson out of Pahokee, Fla. Meyer didn’t cheat and, thankfully now, didn’t get Richardson.

A Tennessee football source told me earlier in the season that Richardson wasn’t getting on the field because he couldn’t be trusted yet. That was in reference to his football skills. There were rumblings that Richardson wanted to transfer.

It’s not going to be the type of transfer he thought. I can’t see any way these three don’t spend some time in prison. Kiffin surely has to kick them off the team soon, if not today.

In the short term, Tennessee will take a beating on the recruiting trail. There’s a chance that Kiffin’s first class has been gutted. We’ll see. As a whole, the Volunteers have overachieved this season. Now they’ve been betrayed by some knuckleheads.

Tennessee Knuckleheads

From what Ive seen so far this year, Kiffin is a pretty good coach but I think he will be gone in three years; fired or otherwise.  Let me explain. He always seems to be surrounded by or apart of negative publicity.  Starting in Oakland, which is just a terrible organization and situation to begin with, then before the season started in Tennessee with comments about Urban Meyer and several "self reported" recruiting violations and now the current "knuckleheads" situation.  It just seems like its one thing after another with Kiffin.  Obviously there are other programs that are in much worse situations but Tennessee is supposed be a great every year, well, up until at least a few years ago. I personally think they guy has some character issues and does not handle the "lime light" well.

Welcome to the world of internet journalism, where "unnamed" sources, bias, sensationalism, and pandering are the rules of thumb.  Dodd is a joke.  You are just now figuring this out.  :)

USMC:

I don't interpret 24 arrests (OK, OK, citations and arrests) in four years, "breaking wind". More like filling up their pants.

Dodd and Dumber

Take a beating on the recruiting trail, my foot. Dodd is as dumb as these boys are criminal. Getting rid of the rubbish (as Kiffin surely will do) won't hurt recruiting in any way. It only opens up a few spots for new recruits - recruits who will come to Tennessee to concentrate on football instead of thuggish behavior. Go Vols!

Someone breaks wind in Gainesville and 6 successive hate columns by Dodd are written.  Armed robbery occurs in Knoxville, and those silly kids are at it again.

Isn't being objective a cornerstone of journalism, or has that been replaced by sensationalism?

TENN HAS ALWAYS HAD THE TALENT TO BE A TOP TEN PROGRAM. THEY JUST NEEDED NEW DIRECTION TO GET THEM THERE. YOU CAN'T BE OVERACHIEVERS IF YOU WERE GOOD TO BEGIN WITH.  LANE KIFFEN WILL TAKE THIS PROGRAM TO NEW HEIGHTS WITHIN TWO YEARS.
