Brian Kelly addresses Notre Dame connection

It wasn't much but Cincinnati's Brian Kelly spoke about the swirling rumors that he is headed to Notre Dame sooner rather than later.

"As far as the rumors go, our kids don't pay much at because I don’t," Kelly said on Monday's Big East conference call. "We’re humble that our names would be associated with programs. Our kids have become immune to it."

A lot of you probably noticed that Kelly didn't say the words: "I'm not going to Notre Dame." Of course, what does that mean when Nick Saban said the same thing about Alabama?

I would like to think that Harbaugh has enough integrity to turn down the head coaching job at Michigan's second biggest rival (next to Ohio State): Notre Dame.

Here's a tantalizing name that was dropped by Chet Coppock on his Notre Dame post game radio show: Mike Shanahan.

So, what you are saying is that a football coach should NEVER leave a school?  Under no circumstances???  I am not defending Nick Saban....he should have never said "I am not going to coach at Alabama" but you cant blame him for wanting to go to the NFL...look at how many coaches did the same (Spurrier, Carrol, Petrino, Butch Davis, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Coughlin, etc etc etc).  He left the NFL because he didn't like coaching in the NFL--PERIOD.  Additionally, I guess coaches should never leave one program for another....i.e. M Brown, Tommy Tuberville (UM-AU),  Urban Meyer, etc etc etc.... UTConley71 has got to be a bitter LSU fan.  The real deal is Saban probably had ZERO desire to remain in Baton Rouge--a real dump of a place so he took a shot at the NFL, realized he didn't like it and returned to a decent program in the SEC.  The only thing he has to be regretful for is his comments that he wasn't going to Alabama....

Get over Saban... Jealous jerks !

Always the blah blah about how Saban lied . Saban did nothing worse than Petrino (who left the Falcons before he finished out the season unlike Saban who did finish ! ). How many other coaches do you want me to name that have left for better jobs and were not exactly forthcoming about their privacy ??? Bottom line is everyone hates on bama and when we didnt get Rich Rod yall were like " Woooo Hoooo Bama's really dead now and we wont ever have to worry about them dominating again like they did from 1961-1981"
ESPN and CBS and all the Don Shula lovers didnt want to see poor ole Mikey Boy Shula get fired and when we did fire Don's baby boy the media were smug in that no one wanted this job any more, but not only did we get a great coach we landed the biggest name in the business !!
And with the way Kiffin handles himself I think you need to worry more about him in that he does not give a rip about his players and there well being !!! Bunch of Jackasses is what all you Saban haters are !!!

Nick Saban lies to protect his own interests.  It is in Saban's interest to recruit the best players in case a better offer doesn't come along.  Proect his current team?  Don't you wish?  If you believe that then you believe he goes to recruits house and says, "I'm coach Saban.  My current team is LSU/Alabama/Slippery Rock and even if some lesser staff coaches you, know that you are better off because I was there for a few weeks or  few years."

No one is better off for a jerk with the ethics of a Nick Saban, Billy Gillespie, Kelvin Sampson being on their college campus.  Next time you write some apologetic, "UKantbeserious," pick someone more worthy of your argument.

Simply put:  It would be a major mistake for Brian Kelly to leave Cincy for ND.  But if the rumors are true, it would be a major mistake for Cincy not to pony-up and pay Kelly a ton of moolah.

Jim Harbaugh

I would rather have him as a head coach he is 2-1 against USC and has them fighting for a rose bowl bid this year.  Both would be good selections, but I would look at both of them.  Thats all Im saying.

I don't disagree with this and don't think most ND fans would either.  I just don't see them getting him.  Stanford is trying to lock him in though with this job and the Michigan job both as possible stumbling blocks for them (to sign an extension).

Oh my gosh! Charlie Weis is fat! That's hysterical. Seriously, when I signed on to Sportsline today, I was thinking "What sort of originally brilliant joke will I read today?"

And BAM, just like that, you crack an egg of hilarity all over our heads with the "Charlie Weis is fat, so he likes lots of food" joke.

Kudos to you my man on your Seinfeldian wit.

***Note, I don't particularly care for Weis nor his arrogant demeanor, but honestly...can't people think of anything better than "Weis is so fat..." jokes? It's a little tired to say the very least.
