Latest Heisman Watch

It was the weekend to abuse bad defenses. Colt McCoy turned the quarterback draw into Texas’ biggest weapon. Toby Gerhart used his arm to help beat Notre Dame. That left Tim Tebow and his five touchdowns lagging behind in third place

1. Colt McCoy, Texas: Moves up to No. 1 because without him Texas would have lost to Texas A&M. Four touchdowns passing, one rushing and almost 500 yards in total offense. Texas stared into the abyss. Colt pulled it back.

2. Toby Gerhart, Stanford: The kid taking 21 units this semester – 21! – got some national TV love against Notre Dame. Charlie’s angels – they certainly weren’t demons – allowed Gerhart 205 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for a score.

3. Tim Tebow, Florida: It’s a fairly tight race when Superman throws for three and runs for two and ends up only third. Were those camera phones going off in the end zone during his final series at home? Yes, they were.

4. Kellen Moore, Boise State: The poor guy has been forgotten all year. All five of his touchdowns were needed in an 11-point victory against Nevada. The best thing: Boise is all but in the BCS.

5. Danario Alexander, Missouri: Slowly and quietly, Alexander has become the best receiver in the country. So slow that he isn't a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award. Against Kansas he caught 15 balls for 233 yards. That was the third time in four games Alexander has surpassed 200 yards. Prior to that, Missouri had three 200-yard games by a receiver in its history.

Come on now brother. Why isn't Keenum going to be invited, or why wouldn't I invite him??? Well, first off it is about the player being selectecd, but part of being that player has to do with their leadership capabilities in my opinion. Houston lost to two crap teams this year. Houston has a couple big wins, but they lost to teams without a winning record even. Tebow, Moore, and McCoy all have undefeated teams, not to mention if it's just on numbers alone, Moore has 37 touchdowns, ( one more than Keenum) and only 3 interceptions ( 6 less than Keenum ) which is the best in the nation. Based off stats alone Moore gets it. You are hyping up that Keenum is only a junior, but Moore is only a sophmore and he also led his team to a one loss season as a freshman last year. Gerhardt is the heart and soul of Stanford. Without him, they have 5 wins at best. He is in te hunt, because he has led his team all year and has stats on top of it also. Keenum should not even get the knodd. In my opinion, it's between Moore, McCoy and Tebow.

another joke heisman voter. doyeliet and dud, hee and haw.  just like the joke AP voters who write columns after a team they dont want to ruin their little secret crap of elite club, write about telling the voters to vote this team down, please all pile on this one team even though they won and have them drop for winning because it wasnt good enough for them, FOR WHICH THEY DO but their elites can play nobody and barely survive...yeah lets let the IDIOT MEDIA decide who gets the heisman.  same with the heisman...dont let anybody who isnt on this little crap of elite even be invited, even though the numbers and opponents of the NOT selected elite are 3 times better

the heisman is a joke more than an award and well this isnt a surprise considering whose voting

there are only 3 real candidates and they are certainly not ingram OR teblow. if shonn greene cant EVEN GET INVITED with 13 straight 100 yard games for which has never been done before and over 1800 yards last year because his team had 4 losses YET when tebow wins it his team GETS TO LOSE 4 games.   lets get rid of it. its not a suc award

what a joke "superman" plays one of the worst Ds in football if not maybe the worst and he cant even get over 40 points when almost every team that played FSU scored in the 40s. this is supposed to be the ballyhooed best team ever and teblow gets a td and gary danielson..screams TD TEBOW....on a pass!  how about TD FLORIDA. dud, your manlove with this overhyped idiot...and his stats show why he shouldnt even be invited this year, is DISGUSTING AT BEST

there are only 3 deserving.

keenum- 38 tds, 4992, 6 int, case has 12,201 total passing yards in his career and 96 total TDs and he IS ONLY A JUNIOR. WOW

mcCoy- 27 td, 3328 yds, 9 int and 368 yards rushig

toby gerhart of stanford with 1736 total yards and
205 last night and considering shonn greene wasnt even invited for accomplishing at least 100 yards in every game, 13 staright, a feat that has never been done before and probably wont again. and over 1800 yards last year

compared to teblow with barely over 2000 yards passing, 17 tds, 796 rushing which is floridas only offense and 13 tds...that gets him to 93rd on the total qb ranking

and keenum has thrown for almost three times as many yards and has nearly the same interceptions as the chosen one. to only have 6 ints with nearly throwing for 5000 yards and will be over 5000 after his championship game. you harp up a bull runner getting tds but dont even mention this.

why isnt keenum included. thats just BS  right along with polls and BcS itself

Latest Heisman Watch

If Colt is spending his time concentrating on the National Championship game THE HORNS will be in good shape.  COLT will be able to go out in a blaze of glory with he glass football ala Vince Young.  No Heisman but the real glory will be returning to the 40 Acres with the knowledge that not only did his team win it all, have a very good win streak of 20 or so games, but that he QB'd one team to more wins that anyone in NCAA history!

Now that beats the hell out of the Heisman.  We don't want him to end up lik Reggie Bush under NCAA investigation, like OJ under arrest, like Terry Baker, Oregon's all but forgetten Heisman winner.

All a bunch of records and stats are nice but look at Barry Bonds--all stats, no fans.

Gerhart, Tebow, and a few others maybe fit the Heisman hype.  I figure COLT, TEBOW, and GERHART go to NY and the winner will be______?

In the last few years of the Bradford, Tebow, MCCOY era, I would like to see Colt keep up with his competitors.  All Bradfordhas in a Heisman and a suspicious shoulder.  Tebow ahs a Heisman, a NC, an might get two of wach.  McCoy has 44 wins as a starting QB and may catch both in Heismanss and catch Tebow in NC's.

It's all good.

What a hater!!!! Apparently you really dont know much about the game...You probably dream about having his life and morals with the right values. You must be an Opie Taylor fan....(Colt McCoy)
Why dont you read the stats before you show how much football knowledge you have...Which is none!

D. Alexander?  Hmm Dodd didn't go to Mizzou or anything.  Golden Tate is the receiver that is having the best year, however, Jonathan Baldwin is the best receiver in the country.

LOL, You're right playmaker21. If Tebow was a QB then he would of done better than completing 17 of 21 passes for over 200yds and three tds. Who would of thunk a RB could pass that well.

The heisman has also become a what have you done for me lately award.  What a load of crap.  If Ingram or Tebow gets it, its because of the team they are on.  Toby Gerhart is clearly the best choice for heisman winner, followed by Colt McCoy.  Now McCoy has one more game to impress the voters, but watching last night, and hearing what Musberger and Herbstreit were saying about Gerhart, I am almost positive that game cemented his votes.

I'd rather have a National Championship too.  Plus, I don't think there's any way Colt wins it over the Messiah or Mark Ingram (and no matter how much people outside of the SEC want to think he's out, I'm willing to bet he isn't).

I'm a Texas fan, so I know my boy Colt is good.  Maybe I'll be surprised come the Heisman ceremony.
