BCS bowl lineup and my top five

If form holds – and that means Texas finishing No. 2 in the BCS – this is how the BCS bowls will shake out tonight …

BCS title game – Texas vs. Alabama
Comment:  Got to think Bama will be almost a prohibitive favorite but Texas wasn’t supposed to beat USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl either.

Fiesta Bowl – TCU vs. Boise State
Comment: Fiesta is always thinking out of the box. It becomes the first BCS bowl to match two undefeated non-BCS schools. Should be a ratings winner.

Orange Bowl – Iowa vs. Georgia Tech
Comment:  Pasty Iowans will overrun South Florida and come away schooled in the ways of the option offense.

Sugar – Florida vs. Cincinnati
Comment: Alabama didn’t want to be here last year. Will Florida coming off an SEC title game loss? Also, who coaches the Bearcats with Brian Kelly headed to Notre Dame?

Rose – Oregon vs. Ohio State*
Comment:  Might be the best game of the bunch. Chip Kelly’s wide open Quack Attack against Ohio State’s old-style defense.

*--locked in

Here is my final regular-season top five. You can see the entire top 25 later Sunday:
1.Alabama
2. TCU
3. Texas
4. Cincinnati
5. Florida

TCU vs Boise St. - BEEN THERE DONE THAT!  The official slogan of both these two teams should be "Remember the Poinsettia Bowl and the Alamo!"  The only reason this game will be a ratings winner is because it is the Fiesta Bowl not due to the teams playing one another.  Both of these teams are great and deserve better matches from the BCS.  BCS must be scared that TCU and Boise will beat the teams that the BCS has had ranked above them all seaon long.  Thus exposing more flaws in the BCS ranking system. I respectfully differ with your opinion that the Fiesta Bowl is thinking outside the box.  This all looks very planned and makes the BCS officials look like cowards.

No way. Iowa gets the bid. They're the better team, they travel extremely well (still hold Orange Bowl record for tix sold) and they will bring an excited fan base with them. And they spend money. JoPa would have to apologize to the nation if his team got in since they were dominated by the 2 tough teams on their schedule AT HOME (one was a supposedly insurmountable "white out") and their signature win is......Temple. Even JoePa would be embarrased.

I think TCU wins 30-20.

It is a silly match up. But what you think is of no matter. That is the whole point. Play the games and let the teams sort it out and not debate. How many pundits chose Alabama to beat Florida yesterday?

TCU beat Boise State in a minor bowl last year 17-16.
I think it was the San Diego County Credit Union Bowl.
If they play this year I think TCU wins 30-20.

And everyone would get their ass handed to them by Iowa's D.  Do you have a clue how many Iowa offensive players were out before the season began.  They have been playing with their 3rd string running back all year.  We will punk whoever we play just like we did to the great South Carolina team last year.  Iowa was 10 points from a undefeated season and had the one of the roughest road schedules of any BCS teams.  You are either massively uninformed or you are 12 years old.  BRING IT!!!!!

Pasty?

How can a guy who could hide behind a bag of white rice call Iowans pasty?

... And you drop Texas because they beat a good team?

Come ON Dodd... You know football, you saw that Texas defense cripple that Nebraska offense. Texas hasn't played defense that well in a long, long, long, time. Zac Lee looked like a deer in the headlights when he got under center.

Listen the game should be TCU/Florida, but that will never happen because the BCS committee will not allow TCU to play a big contender and beat them so bad that everyone watching realizes what I've been trying to say for the last half to the season. TCU is the best football team in college!!!  They would beat Florida by more than Alabama. They would destroy Bama or Texas, but that can not be allowed to happen because a smaller conference team can not be as good as a big conference or the BCS would crumble. PERIOD!!
