With word that a Star Wars character is being considered as the new mascot at Ole Miss, it's clear someone has broken out the hallucinogens in Oxford.
In the spirit of chasing a Vicodin with a shot of vodka, here are my top 10 candidates to replace Colonel Reb:

5. Hannah Storm, but only in her Catholic school girl outfit

Ole Miss mascot suggestionsi'm likin the MUDCAT'S myself ! it's the first thing that came to my peabrain mind as i was finishin readin the artical ! with a big MISSISSIPPI CATFISH dressed in CAJUN ATTIRE ! that would be the bomb ! and seein MUDCAT GRANT is one of my favorite pitcher's of all time the name touches my heartstring's !

Ole Miss mascot suggestionsWhat I don't get is that 7 of the SEC teams have really clever cool names, and four have terrible names (Wildcats, Bulldogs and Tigers, wow really original). So depending on how cool you think Ole Miss is, you can either name it something original, or just name it the Bobcats or Eagles, or hell why not add another Gators. The Ole Miss Gators sounds good.

Ole Miss mascot suggestionsHow 'bout Possums! They're common throughout the state of Mississippi. They've even been known to reside in The Grove. Best of all, they're an accurate caricature of Ole Miss atheletic teams . . . they play dead on defense and get killed on the road. GO STATE!

Ole Miss mascot suggestionsIf you flip the syllables of Ackbar you have Barack! How politically correct or intense or focused or at least current could you be?
Nothing wrong with the name "Rebels" taken out of the obvious context from whence they came, and I applaud Ole Miss for trying to HIT one into centerfield. Have always liked the name, "Reivers," from Faulkner for a possible redo for the Oxford footballers. |
