LSU’s three suspended players are expected to be reinstated on Tuesday CBSSports.com has learned.

Defensive backs Tyrann Mathieu, Tharold Simon as well as running back Spencer Ware were suspended for Saturday’s Auburn game following reported failed drug tests. Asked following the game if the players would return for the Alabama game on Nov. 5, coach Les Miles said, “I probably know the answer to that but I don’t want to talk about it.”

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported last week that the players would be suspended only one game.  The three were not around the team for LSU’s 45-10 win over Auburn.

At the time of his suspension, Mathieu was considered a Heisman and All-American candidate. Ware was the team’s leading rusher. LSU will now have 11 days to prepare at full strength for Alabama. The game marks the between 1-2 teams in the AP poll in five years.

WOW just in time to prepare for Bama, how typical of SEC teams!!!

Right.  No other conference would have suspended them at all, especially the ACC (Miami anyone?)
You do realize that one exclamation mark suffices right?  We aren't passing notes in 6th grade.

Get your facts straight before pouring out your hateraid, Skreffty.  Bama does not have the most sanctions in NCAA history, thats the cow college down the road.
They have the most MAJOR infractions, thanks for clearing that up!  Tied with the cow college.  Your state sure does love cheating.

Let the Over-recruiting Loophole Bowl begin

I was curious about the accusations made by Teres Minor on Oct. 25 2011. I had heard the same thing said about Florida and Alabama so I did a little research. It took 10 minutes at Rivals.com to find out the facts. Teres Minor should also consider checking reality before singling out one school with attacks. Over the last 4 years 2008 to 2011, LSU had 102 recruits (not 120), Alabama - 109, Oregon - 96, Ohio State - 89, Notre Dame - 88, Florida - 86, Oklahoma - 93, Texas - 87. While it does look like some teams are recruiting more than their alotted 85 scholarships, it is not hard to imagine that 17 guys over 4 years could lose their scholarships for academic or team violations (in fact it likely should be more). If someone quits the team or drops out of school, a team can award that scholarship to another student. I do not doubt that there are miscarriages of policies, but LSU is in no way a stand out for the abuses you assert. And, it appears that most teams have similar attrition rates.

Geaux Tigers!

Synthetic Three expected to be reinstated Tuesday

These are not the only three athletes to fail a drug test.  You can be assured that every team has players who participate in drug use.  It just so happens that two of these guys were high profile.  Les has dealt with some serious issues this year and better get a handle on things before he loses the team.  LSU passed down what they thought  appropriate.  Other schools may handle things differently.  Look at the varying suspensions for DUI/DWI.  Some schools give a couple quarter suspensions, some 1-3 games, and others get the boot.  It is all relative to the school they attend.  I have no affiliation with LSU, but will refrain from throwing rocks....it is all a matter of time before any player (KID) at a any school screws up.  That's life, choices made, and outcomes brought about.  Hopefully, these guys get their crap together b/c Mathieu and Ware have a possible future on Sundays.

Let the Over-recruiting Loophole Bowl begin

On Saturday, LSU proved that they are so deep that they can lose players like tS3 and still play dominant football.  When two schools recruit 120 players over a four-year period while everyone else is recruiting 85, they can afford to lose the odd player or two for a few games.

It kinda sucks when you are one of the kids who shows up on campus in August, only to find out the next day that you have no scholly and no place to live, but hey: that's big-time SEC football.  And it wins National Championships.  Who cares if the kids get hurt in the process?

The NCAA should require both schools to tell parents of recruits exactly how many kids they have screwed out of their schollies to "make the numbers work."  But they won't.  There is just too much money on the table.

I doubt that AJ McCarron wil "be a deer in the headlights", you might want to do a little research and educate yourself. His stats are evry bit as good as Jarrett Lee's, and Alabama's defense leads LSU in EVERY catagory except sacks, but AJ is averaging 1 sack per game.

AJ -     &nbs
p;     CMP     ATT     YDS     CMP%     YPA     TD     INT     RATING

;     &nbs
p;     134     200     16
64    67%     &n
bsp; 8.32     10     3     &nbs
p;  150.4

Jarrett -     CMP     ATT     YDS     CMP%     YPA     TD     INT     RATING

;     &nbs
p;     98      155     1250    63%&nbs
p;     &nb
sp; 8.07    13
;     1     &nbs
p; 157.4

Shall we talk defense:

Scoring Defense - Bama #1
Total Defense - Bama #1 tied with Michigan State (LSU cant even top MSU in Defense)
Rushing defense - Bama #1
Passing Defense - Bama #1 tied with Michigan State, AGAIN - No LSU, odd!!!
Tackles for loss - Bama #2, behind MSU - who seems to have a better "D" than LSU.

I understand why you are hoping that our Sophmore QB will freeze like a deer in the headlights, because if he doesnt your team is history. LSU has not played a defense like Alabama's yet, of course Alabama has not played one like LSU's either. I think the defference will be, whoever respects the other team enough and doesnt just think this is going to be a cakewalk.....kinda like you think. I sure hope the players of the LSU team are smarter than you or they might get their feelings hurt on the 5th.

Now go read and educate yourself about CFB, instead of just running your piehole!! Can I get a ROLL TIDE???

I doubt that AJ McCarron will be a deer in the headlights. Lets compare stats:

AJ McCarrons - CMP     ATT     YDS     CMP%     YPA     TD     INT     RATING

;     &nbs
p;     &nb
sp;     134     200     1664    67%     &n
bsp; 8.32    10      3     &nbs
p; 150.4

Jarrett Lee    -  CMP     ATT     YDS     CMP%     YPA     TD     INT     RATING

;     &nbs
p;     &nb
sp;     98

; 155     12
50    63.2%     8.07    13      1     &nbs
p; 157.4

Comparing those number heads up, I dont think AJ will be anything but comfortable in the pocket on the 5th. His numbers are comparable to Lee's, and he is a sophmore. Also Lee has not faced a defense like Bama's yet, of course Bama has not faced one like LSU's either. shall we compare those?

Scoring Defense - Bama #1
Total Defense - Bama teid for #1 with Michigan State (LSU cant even top MSU)
Rushing Defense - Bama #1
Passing Defense - Bama tied for #1 with Michigan State again (not LSU, again)
Sacks - ahhh, a weakness only ranked 79th - has not seemed to hurt much though.
Tackles for Loss - #2 nationally, behind Michigan State by 0.68% (Once again LSU is behind MSU)

I absolutely understand why you have to convince yourself the Alabama will fall to pieces when LSU comes to town, but I wouldnt bet on it if I was you. LSU and Alabama are very evenly matched, I have a lot of respect for what LSU has done this year, and if the fans of LSU and the players of LSU dont have respect for what Alabama has done this year - they might get their feelings hurt on the 5TH. Can I get a ROLL TIDE???
