LSU’s three suspended players are expected to be reinstated on Tuesday CBSSports.com has learned.

Defensive backs Tyrann Mathieu, Tharold Simon as well as running back Spencer Ware were suspended for Saturday’s Auburn game following reported failed drug tests. Asked following the game if the players would return for the Alabama game on Nov. 5, coach Les Miles said, “I probably know the answer to that but I don’t want to talk about it.”

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported last week that the players would be suspended only one game.  The three were not around the team for LSU’s 45-10 win over Auburn.

At the time of his suspension, Mathieu was considered a Heisman and All-American candidate. Ware was the team’s leading rusher. LSU will now have 11 days to prepare at full strength for Alabama. The game marks the between 1-2 teams in the AP poll in five years.

SHOCKING! Miles reinstates thugs. Shocking. Raise your hands if your shocked. That's what I thought. He'll eat grass while his players will continue to smoke it. The NCAA should crack down.
Does anyone else see the irony in aguy who calls himself the Gourds (one of my favorite bands) calling marijuana use "thug" behavior?  Dude, if you have ever heard a Gourds song, and I doubt you have, you would you know their stance on pot is quite favorable.  You need to change tour name to the700club or something or iloveiran, but not the gourds.  What next, call yourself Pink Floyd and then go on an anti-pyschedelic rant?  You son, are a hypocrite.

But seeing that this week you are an Alabama fan (you had Arkansas up at the beginning of the year, very confusing - troll much?), explain why Saban covered up Ingram's drug bust and why Alabama doesn't (legitimately) drug test its recruits?  Just wondering seeing how they have the most NCAA infractions in history.

"I don't care what school it is. Are you saying drug use is ok? They test for fake weed because it is illegal in the state. some states haven't made it illegal yet."

I am not sure who you were addressing, but I will gladly give my take on this.  I do not think marijuana should be illegal at all.  I see no reason for the government to have any say it in.  If alcohol and cigarettes can be legal and taxed, the same should be true for marijuana.  I am for smaller government, and if there is no victim or even a potential one, then there is no need for anything to be illegal.  The alcohol lobby in this country is very strong, and they are the main reason behind marijuana being illegal.  Them, along with fake conservatives who are for smaller government except when it is an issue they want the government involved in.
Amen!  But I have to point out that the fake conservatives are by far the majority of conservatives in regards to big government (Homeland Monstrosity, Patriot Act, immigration efforts, military - all Big Government).  But not that you have spoken in favor of a choice, you will be accused of using drugs yourself.  It never fails that those that oppose choice attribute the side they hate to anyone for choice.  Anyway, at least LSU didn't cover this up like Saban did with Ingram's drug bust.  It should be a great game, and down with the nanny state/morality police.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Marijuana use is A OKAY, good for your emotional and physical health and just a fun thing to do. What the players do on their own time is fine by me, doesn't say anything about team commitment. People who are still against the use and legalization of marijuana are brainwashed turds, and that is FACT not OPINION. The only remaining counterarguments were mostly put in place by the DEA from the 1930's-60's. They've all been proven wrong by science since, and we have no rebuttal by the DEA, who is now dealing with more dangerous drugs. So if you have a problem with this, wake up an smell the millenium old-timers. At least they're not hung over the next day

I think everyone here is ignoring that a second offense drug test failure is missed games.  LSU took care of it the first time.  Most companies also have a first offense get out of jail free drug policy.  The company will fire you if you are not a valuable asset though.  The company I work for fired someone recently for the Synthetic stuff.  He already had one foot out the door before he failed the test though.  LSU did not skip a beat without these 3 players.  The only one I think hurts the team is Mathieu.  He makes big plays in big games.  The offense just plugs in another RB when Ware is out.  As for Lacy, he sandbagged and LSU used up the Scholarships on other RB's.  They did not offer him a scholarship.

I don't recall hearing much from other programs about suspensions for failed drug tests.  Am I to believe that virtually no other players from virtually every other school in the country is completely drug free.  Stop the insanity.  LSU is honest enough to report it and we are one of the very few schools that test for fake marijuana.  To say this is some sort of SEC scandal just shows what idiots some can be.  How some of you function with all that hatred is astonishing.  Then again, my guess is that you do not function well.  Anyone ever heard of a player anywhere getting suspended for more than one game for using fake marijuana.  Ever?

What happens to you if you fail a drug test at work?? I mean they did use an illegal substance. It wasn't like they had broken a diet and had ice cream when they weren't suppose to.

They did the crime, they've done their time, now it's a wrap. From what I understand; everyone is healthy, and unsuspended. Now Bama can enjoy the knowledge that they will see a complete LSU team, I realize they worried about that. Oh yeah, how about that kid Hilliard, can he plow through a tackle, or what. I love that kid. Good luck to you in your preparation Bama, stay healthy. Geaux Tigers!
