End of the line for Ryan Perrilloux?

Posted on: February 18, 2008 9:16 pm

As a three-time "loser", Ryan Perrilloux is running out of chances at LSU.

The talented LSU quarterback's third career suspension came down Monday from coach Les Miles. The announcement contained no specifics but apparently it is the result of a bunch of little stuff like being late for meetings, classes etc. Except that Perrilloux has exactly no equity built up with Miles. The three suspensions have been for different and troubling reasons

Combine that with the fact that Perrilloux arguably saved LSU's season with effective backup work and his do-or-die start in the SEC championship game. This was going to be his team in 2008. Miles has little behind him on the depth chart but it is clear the coach has little patience. I scraped up this two-day old blog
if you really want to get into rumor mongering.

Bottom line: Don't be surrpised if Crazy Les boots even crazier Ryan. How do you screw up such a great situation? From quarterback of the defending national champions to looking for a school to transfer to.

End of the line for Ryan Perrilloux?

I do hope this is the end of the line for Perrilloux. I am sick and tired of all the snotty-nosed little bastards, that have a free ride in college, thinking they do what they want because they are a "star." Grow up you spoiled brats and concentrate on your education as well as your atheletic career instead of being a sorry worthless sack of crap.

Probably would not matter if he comes back anyway because as a friend of mine used to say..."you cannot win the Kentucky Derby with a mule..."

End of the line for Ryan Perrilloux?

I honestly don't think Les is going to get rid of RP, only because he's the defending national champion, and he's in the toughest (arguably) league in the country, with seedy coaches all around him. He's going to have to stoop to their level in order to keep competing, especially because he doesn't have any really good backups. He'll be suspended for now, probably miss the first drive or two (maybe even a whole quarter) in their first game, but they'll let the kid play so that App State doesn't embarrass the Tigers like they embarrassed my school last year (thank god it was the one game I missed while I was Up North with my family). Les really doesn't have a choice, especially in the NCAA now where coaches will bend the rules for their star players all the time.

Mark my words...  Perriloux will suit up in the purple and gold, win 10 games, vie for the SEC championship, and lead us to the BCS.

Can I offer you a cup for you haterade?

End of the line for Ryan Perrilloux?

Mr. Dodd, it appears to me that you writers would sooner-or-later realize that a crazy person cannot possibly win a NC in football.  It is totally out of line to call Les Miles crazy.  Is he crazy for winning 11 games in each of his 3 seasons, bowl wins (slaughters, btw) over Miami and Notre Dame, and a BCS NC?  He totally out-coached Mr. Sweatervest in the NC game.  He has shown nothing but class since he has been at LSU and he supports his players.  Whatever Miles does about RP, it will be the right decision.

I can't help but think...

Rich Rod is up in Michigan licking his chops, waiting for Ryan to become available. If Michigan doesn't get a quarterback soon, they are going to be in a world of trouble.

SHOULD be...

I understand that these aren't legal issues. But how many chances can programs possibly give a guy like this?

This guy was LSU's prize recruit a few years back, and all he has done is disappoint -- when you constantly break rules, you can't become part of the team, because you're constantly being reprimanded. Clearly, people like Perrilouz see themselves as above the team; otherwise, they would not keep breaking rules. It's as if they think, "The team can't survive without me, so I dare them to continue to punish me or let me go..." That's why you've gotta let him go.

LSU is a hotbed of talent. I don't think it needs this guy any more than he needs it, contrary to what he might think.
