Cliff Lee decision? 'It's going to be awhile'

The Cliff Lee talks creep along, with the Yankees and Rangers each tossing bouquets at the ace left-hander's feet.

But even though the Rangers met with Lee and his agent, Darek Braunecker, in Lee's native Arkansas on Tuesday, don't expect any resolutions anytime soon.

Timetables?

"It's going to be awhile," said an official with one of the clubs in contact with Lee.

Braunecker will attend at the winter meetings in Orlando, Fla., next week, at which the pace is expected to pick up.

Clifford is going to the Dodgers! He likes the color blue, loves the West coast (played for Seattle) and he has a history with Ted Lilly. What more can he ask for? Ned Colletti overpaid for Juan Uribe and he will surely do the same when he signs Clifford.

Come on Cliff.  Those Yankee Fans spit on your wife during the playoffs.  Ask her if she wants to wipe off that slime and join that group of a-holes. You can't be that hard up for a few extra millions bucks. Come on man.

I can only hope he stays in Texas.  I personally enjoy every time the Yankees don't get a guy they want.  It doesn't seem to happen often, but if he goes to NYY, one of their glaring holes is filled.  All of a sudden their rotation can match up with anyone (at least their top 3 starters).  This would get them to the playoffs, potentially win any short series, and then have a great chance in a longer series.

On the other side, it's nice for a team like Texas to return to competitiveness.  They have some excellent players with excellent stories behind them.  Maybe they can hang around for a while and make the playoffs interesting again!!!
