Greedy Braves want Hanson here, too

PHOENIX -- While the Braves were thrilled to have reliever Craig Kimbrel added to the NL All-Star team late Sunday, joining bullpen mate Jonny Venters and starter Jair Jurrjens, they remain a greedy little team.

See, catcher Brian McCann, the MVP of last year's All-Star game, is bummed starter Tommy Hanson wasn't named, too.

A case can be made easily, too: Hanson steps into the break ranked third in the NL in ERA (2.44), first in opponents' batting average against (.190), eighth in strikeouts (109) and tied for third in wins (10).

"We've got to find a way to get them both here," McCann said Monday, speaking of Kimbrel and Hanson. "The fact that Tommy Hanson was not put in is kind of rough. He's [toward] the top of every pitching category.

"He deserves to be out here."

Forget the team. It's about the player that deserves to be there over other players. Hanson would be the ace on several teams.

@ Hbk2416.

The beef you should have with Bochy should only be with 1 pick.  Tim Lincecum.  Tim Lincecum this year is NOT an all star over Tommy Hanson.  Matt Cain was the honorary pick because Bochy knew he was going to pitch on Sunday, and was going to be replaced anyways.  My frustration with most Braves fans (and most other baseball fans) is that they keep trying to throw Vogelsong in the argument when Vogelsong is second in the NL in ERA... Had 9 straight games of 2 runs or less and has pitched 14 out of 16 games allowing 2 earned runs or less.  He has been the ACE this year for a pitching staff that not only won the World Series last year, but has the Giants in first place with a 27th ranked offense.  So I say #1 Starter this year for One of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball  + Second Lowest ERA in NL + defending World Series Champs + 1st Place in NL West (5th best record in MLB)+ One of the Worst Offenses in all of baseball= Worthy of all star slot... As I said before, THIS YEAR Tommy Hanson > Tim Lincecum

Hanson got screwed by Bochy who took three of his own starting pitchers.  Hanson is having a better year than all three Giants starting pitcher chosen by their own manager.  Let's hope Hanson carries a chip on his shoulder and maybe help the Braves defeat the Giants in the playoffs.
