Pope enrolling at Seton Hall

Herb Pope will enroll at Seton Hall this week, a source told CBSSports.com late Monday.

According to the source, the former New Mexico State standout will ask the NCAA for a waiver to play immediately. But it's unclear whether the request will be heard by the start of the season and doubtful it would be granted even if it was, meaning the more likely scenario is that Pope will miss this season and then be eligible to play at Seton Hall in the 2009-10 campaign (assuming he progresses academically and doesn't get into any off-the-court trouble) with three years of eligibility remaining.

Pope averaged 11.1 points and 6.8 rebounds last season at NMSU.

Pope enrolling at Seton Hall

Pope to Seton Hall.  Now Keon Lawrence to Seton Hall.  Next, Stephen Curry?...to Seton Hall?

What are the Pirates up to?  Are they 'trolling' nationwide for Mid Atlantic recruits who may be homesick?  Are they surrepticiously undermining programs - to capture players who 'got away'?    Lifting 2 kids from programs where they had been productive - to sit out a year and play at 'The Hall"?  Doesn't add up - not correctly at least.   Bobby Gonzalez & Co. are dealin' from the bottom of the deck.  Something fishy is cookin' in
South Orange?
