KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A bad football day still resulted in a good basketball day for Tennessee thanks to the Vols, according to sources, picking up commitments from Class of 2010 standouts Josh Selby and Jordan McRae.

Both are considered top 30 prospects.

"Yeah, I have committed," Selby told CBSSports.com by phone late Saturday while he was on his unofficial visit to the school. "It just feels comfortable, like another home."

Selby, a combo guard, is rated as the seventh-best prospect in his class by Rivals.com.

McRae, a shooting guard, is rated as the 28th-best prospect in his class by Rivals.com.

I was wrong. Jan Van Breda Koff was fired as the coach of St. Bonaventure for some sort of recruiting or academic scandal. He is now the head coach of Nashville's new ABA team "The Nashville Bronks". (Does everyone have their season tickets?!?) LOL I guess that would make him the pride of Tennessee.

Look, most Tiger fans will hate on Pearl and the Tennessee program....but the guy is a heck of a coach, and he's building a heck of a program. I like the fact that Memphis and UT both have strong programs going. The whole "never gotten past the sweet 16" argument is used a lot by Memphis fans. But I don't think you'll be worrying about that for too much longer. You guys are on the cusp of national powers. It'll be interesting to see where both Cal and Pearl are five years down the road....that'll more than likely tell you where the programs are.

You stupid tool!!!! Jan Van Breda Koff is the coach at St. Bonaventure and has been gone from Vandy for several years now. Ever heard of Kevin Stallings?!? You are an obvious hater and should study your sources before making ignorant comments.

...and btw Bruce Pearl is one of the best coaches and motivators to have ever stepped onto a basketball court!

SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT! SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Two Class of 2010 standouts commit to Tennessee

Well, for those who keep using the "can't make it past the Sweet Sixteen" criticism, let me try to explain why Vols fans see us making the round of 16 two years in a row as a positive, not a negative.  See, it's been since I was little (I'm 45) that UT had any success to speak of in basketball at all.  We've suffered through years of underachieving, not very talented, not very well coached, middle of the road in the SEC East teams.  With the exception of a few spotty years here and there, March was a time when Vols fans watched women play basketball and cried, "If only our men could compete like that."  You have to understand that in three years under Pearl, Tennessee has achieved more, been more consistent, more exciting, and won more than I can remember.  So to us, it's HUGE that we made the Sweet Sixteen two years in a row.  And if you really think that Pearl, with the recruiting he's been doing, the facility upgrades the administration has undertaken, and the renewed fan interest, won't ever make it farther in the tournament, you're just kidding yourself.  A Pearl coached UT team will contend for a National Championship.  Sooner rather than later.

Well if Calipari is a choke artist, what is Pearl for not ever getting out of the Sweet Sixteen?   Oh Wait, he's just a Vol.  Congrats on  winning in the regular season, and please come back when you can string together more than 2 W's in March.

Wyatt...dumbest post in CBSsportsline.com history

You've got to be joking?

Slick Cal & Jan Van Turn-your-head-&-cough ... better coaches than Pearl?  Laughable.  What happened in Tiger High's gym last season?  Van Breda Koff has been out of the SEC for like a decade, dude.  Try Pacific or Pepperdine or whatever backwater he's toiling in now.

Pearl even owns Billy Munster down in Jeanshortsville.  The list of coaches who are "better" than Pearl at any aspect of being a head basketball coach is short & getting shorter all the time.

Calipari?  Great coach with a great team (in a poor conference).  Pearl has gotten the better of him.  Breda Koff is the class of Tennessee coaching?  Even though Kevin Stallings has been at Vandy for 10 years?  Wow.
