John Calipari became Memphis' all-time winningest coach early Tuesday.

Few hours after that, he won again.

"Next year I'm going to take my game to Memphis," Xavier Henry said at a morning press conference that was broadcast live on national television.

Henry is the nation's top-ranked shooting guard, a 6-foot-6 specimen who chose Memphis over Kansas to end a lengthy recruiting battle between the two schools that played for the national title last season. His pledge gives the Tigers a centerpiece to what is now a four-man recruiting class, and it'll allow Calipari to turn all of his attention towards John Wall (nation's top-ranked point guard) and Dominic Cheek (nation's third-ranked small forward), both of whom visited Memphis this past weekend and left many close to the program with the feeling that the Tigers might be on the verge of securing a class that could rank as the nation's best.

Here's an updated look at Scout.com's top 20 from the Class of 2009:

1. Derrick Favors (uncommitted)

2. John Wall (uncommitted)

Let them get to college before you pimp them...

Let them get to college before you pimp them.  What a joke.  Next, you'll be writing about middle schoolers.

Some sites have Henry as number one player in the nation.  Stellar pick-up for Calipari, I'd be surprised if he never wins a title while at 'Phis.  I thought John Wall would commit to Memphis in the summer, and now I think him becoming a Wildcat is more and more likely.

"How did Coach Cal pull this one out of his rear end?"

1. Juwan Wagner   2. Half of Laurenburg Preps team  3. Derrick Rose   4. Tyreke Evans   5. Xavier Henry

Seems to me Cal is pulling them out of every orifice on his body OR (GASP!!!!) he is a top notch recruiter who players want to play for!!!

"Your schedule argument is also garbage. Who did we play last year?  Oklahoma, UConn, USC, Georgetown, Arizona, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Mississippi State, Mich St, Texas (who beat you), UCLA and you (who won one of the best NC games ever on missed free throws).

Yes we have a crappy conference, but non-conference and at tournament time we proved we were one of the top two teams in the nation."

Once again enough said on the scheduling matter!!!

where on the list is the cake walk schedule in one of the nation's worst conferences.  It gets boring watching nba players dunk all over rec league players.

The difference between Memphis's one and dones and other team's one and dones.

They play team ball. No player adveraged over 20 last year. How unselfish is that. You could complain about USC and Mayo...or Beasly and K state.... They did much of nothing for the team but they got good numbers for their stock. Rose was forced to play in the system and play defense. You cant knock Memphis for that. They dont cater to the NBA expactations of players.

And the so called TEAM FIRST systems send players to the NBA earlier also. And alot of them are bust. The reason why most of those players stay for 3 and 4 years. For one they may have to money to do so...Two they dont have to skills to make it yet. Example: Name one Carolina player that came bac that would be a NBA all-star...Answer...none. And please dont say Tyler H. He's awesome but The NBA we leave him adverage. He would have barely went top 10. It was economicallly better for him to stay. Team First My Butttttt!lol

Look what happened to Noah...He could have went number one but came bac and lost millions. He isnt number one level but he was riding on his teams success. Of course those players want their team to do good...if they dont they wont do good in the draft. They arent as good as the roses and durants alone.

my point...stop talking about ur players being able to leave earlier, like they care so much about their university that they stay four years. Because if you think about it they simply are not ready to go to the NBA anyways...its not a hard decision.

And honestly, in my own opinion, I rather have guys who plan on staying and adding to the "team first" tradition this university has, rather than the proverbial "one-and-dones", but X-man wouldn't have hurt to have on your roster.

This is the repetitive sour grapes comment amongst this thread. You can have the guys that plan on staying and the one and dones at the same time. Thats what memphis has right now. They had one guy on the team last year that was one and done. They got one guy on the team this year that is one and done. The rest of the players arent going anywhere. Memphis lost 3 players from last years team. Dorsey was a senior. Chris Douglass Roberts was a junior. Rose was the one and done. This year memphis team will probably lose 4 players. Three of them being seniors and Evans the one and done. Evans came in with a recruiting class of 6 players. The other 5 are not one and done players. The class of 2009 has 4 players committed. The one and done is X Henry. The other 3 are not one and done players. THIS IS A NICE FORMULA FOR SUCCESS.
