UConn might keep this thing for at least a week

I'm not ready to put faith in any team given how this season is going.

But know this: Connecticut is positioned to stay No. 1 for a while.

The Huskies' win at Louisville on Monday night improved Jim Calhoun's team to 21-1 overall, 10-1 in the Big East. More to the point, it allowed them to clear one of their final road hurdles, and now they won't play another tough road game until Feb. 25 at Marquette.

Four of UConn's next five games are at home.

Only two of those games are against ranked opponents.

So the guess here is that UConn will keep its No. 1 ranking longer than Duke kept its.

Which, of course, means the Huskies are destined to lose at home to Michigan on Saturday, just because.

Yep, even though my Hoyas have taken a beating lately, this Big East season is something to behold. I'm also looking forward to the Pitt-UCONN matchups.....Blair against Thabeet and Adrien......man, that's a lot of humanity in the paint.....

I think that UCONN lost to G'Town because the Hoyas played really well that evening, and Thabeet disappeared. When that guy comes to play, the Huskies look pretty close to unstoppable

UCONN certainly played like the #1 team in the land last night. That alone should be enough to send shock waves through the ACC. What I'm looking forward to is the games coming up against Pitt. Marquette is good, but they haven't really faced the teeth of the Big East yet. Pitt will be the measuring stick for the remainder of the season. UCONN has to play them twice before the before the tournament.

Are you an idiot, esouspro? Do you not understand the irony in Gary's comment?

He is remarking on the fact that we've had 4 different #1's in the past 4 weeks, with all those (apart from Duke, who faced Wake Forest and coincidentally also lost once to Michigan) losing unexpectedly. This doesn't make him a "UCONN hater", it's just the trend of new #1's losing suggests they might lose this week.

If you read the rest of the article instead of just picking up on a final remark, then you might realise that Parrish thinks they shouldn't lose until they face Marquette in mid-Feb.

Dude you are the worst UCONN hater aside Dick Vital.  Are you kidding me?  Losing to MU at home would be so far one of the top 2 biggest upsets all year.  UCONN's only loss was at home yes.  But i thinik Michael Phelps was on campus that night    Thats the only way i can explain that loss.
