What You Need To Know

Jodie Meeks hit a wild game-winner.

Marquette lost for the second consecutive time.

Here's Wednesday morning's What You Need To Know:

Notable game from Tuesday: There was a classic at Rupp Arena, one in which Jodie Meeks buried a stepback 3-pointer over Nick Calathes with 4.7 seconds remaining to give Kentucky a 68-65 victory against Florida. Those points were the final points of the night, but that's hardly where things finished, because Calathes rushed the ball up the court after Meeks' shot, launched a 25-footer near the buzzer and was fouled with less than a second left. If he could make three free throws, the game would go to overtime. But he missed the first. And the second. And the third (on purpose), all of which ruined an otherwise incredible effort for Calathes, who finished with 33 points and seven rebounds while shooting 10-of-20 from the field. Also worth noting: Kentucky's Patrick Patterson left in the second half with an apparent ankle injury. He did not return.

Notable performance from Tuesday: Scottie Reynolds made 10 of 17 field goal attempts and finished with 27 points in No. 13 Villanova's 102-84 victory over No. 10 Marquette. The 6-foot-2 guard has now scored at least 27 points in two of his past three outings, which has helped the Wildcats win for the sixth consecutive time and run their record to 20-4 overall, 8-3 in the Big East. This was the second straight loss for Marquette, which is 20-4 overall, 9-2 in the Big East.

Notable game scheduled for Wednesday: Have you heard that North Carolina and Duke are playing? It's been under-hyped, and there's a chance Oklahoma-Baylor could overshadow it. But either way, I wanted to make sure you all know No. 3 UNC and No. 6 Duke will be on the court together, with the main story line being Tyler Hansbrough's attempt to win at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the fourth time in four years. The Tar Heels enter with a 21-2 overall record featuring a 7-2 mark in the ACC. Duke is 20-3 overall, 7-2 in the ACC. Tip-off is set for 9 pm ET.

Notable Game Today

Syracuse vs. UConn!

Forget the ACC, the Big East is where it's at, every day of the week.

Florida is no lock for the tournament

What have they done besides beat Washington? They have done nothing else of note. Poor non-conference SOS as well and no impressive road wins. Looks like the NIT again for them this year because they really have nothing left on the schedule that will wow anyone.

What You Need To Know

What does this win do for Kentucky's NCAA Tourney chances?  Do they still have work to do in the SEC?

Personally, I'm more interested in the Xavier vs Dayton match-up tomorrow night, but there's no way I miss UNC/Duke.
