What You Need To Know

Rhode Island won at the buzzer.

Dominic James broke his left foot.

Here's Thursday's What You Need To Know :

Notable game from Wednesday: A last-second layup from Marquis Jones gave Rhode Island a 93-91 victory over Dayton that tightened the Atlantic 10 race. The Rams are now 21-8 overall, 10-4 in the league and a mere game behind Xavier in the standings. They've won five straight heading into Sunday's tilt at Duquesne, and are just a two-point loss to Xavier last month from leading the A-10 and being a serious at-large candidate for the NCAA tournament.

Notable performance from Wednesday: A.J. Price took 20 shots, made 12 and finished with a career-high 36 points in UConn's 93-82 victory at Marquette. Still, somehow, he wasn't the story of the game, not with UConn coach Jim Calhoun earning his 800th career victory and Marquette senior Dominic James suffering a broken foot that ended his college career, the latter development nothing less than cruel. James finishes with 1,749 career points, and now the Golden Eagles must move forward without him, which should make a deep run in the NCAA tournament tough to achieve.

Notable game scheduled for Thursday: Memphis will put its Conference USA winning streak -- it's at 54 games, by the way -- on the line when it plays at UAB for the first time since Pierre Henderson-Niles slapped a fan last season, and boy this should be fun. The Tigers enter with a 24-3 record that has them ranked fifth nationally. UAB is 19-8 overall and on a six-game winning streak. Tip-off is set for 9 pm ET.

Thanks for adjusting the roster restrictions for H2H leagues (Starting Pitchers (SP) 5 - Relief Pitchers (RP) 2) This is a nice weekly lineup Max. To many fantasy owners were starting (RP) Relief Pitchers and NO Starting Pitchers every week. Because Saves were 10 points each. Which leads me to my next point. Thanks for lowering the Save value to 5 points. And the Win value to 7 points. This will prevent owners from hoarding closers. These changes will make fantasy baseball leagus better and fair for everybody.

Thank you CBS SPORTS!

What You Need To Know

Rm, I totally agree. You West Coast boys get totally jobbed when it comes to scheduling... and as you said, I blame a lot of that on "the idiots running the pac-10."

Big game tonight, I'm going to try to catch it. All I know is that Pitt played UW at UW I think two years ago (maybe last year?) and SOMEHOW squeaked out with a win after being down all game until maybe the last few seconds. UW looks for real this year (mostly). ASU has been wierdly too inconsistent for my liking. UCLA still gets too much pub, but at least I like Howland (former Pitt coach) so I don't mind the media bias. Nevertheless, I admit that it does in fact exist.

What You Need To Know

There's no question that Memphis-UAB is a big game, but saying it's bigger than the game for first place in the Pac-10 is insane. ASU wins, their in first, UW wins, they have a 1.5 game lead with 2 to play, at home. What's better, is that since ESPN is televising UCLA @ Cal on Saturday, they're claiming it's the GAME OF THE YEAR in the Pac-10 - when in reality, it couldn't be further from it.

The fact that ASU vs. UW isn't on until 11 EST and not nationall televised is a result of idiots running the pac-10, but it certainly has no relevance to how big of a game this should be considered.

What You Need To Know

Nobody should ever stay in Vegas longer than three days.

More than that, and you start to hate yourself.

What You Need To Know

I don't know how you did it. I've tried to stay in Vegas for a week because I'm a poker afficianado, but I just cannot. It's excess. TOOO much excess, as redundant as that sounds. I stay up too late, and I party too hard. But I'm assuming you are like me, which explains the tan - you party through the night and then catch up on sleep on the comfy recliners by the pool. At least the scenery is nice.

By the way, I didn't read your comments until I decided that I liked your writing and reporting, so accept my apologies for pressing the issue about the fake-n-bake. And thank you for clarifying. I now respect you a little bit more. You are now on par with the various individuals that have cheap shotted Griffin this year, Tim Donaghy, and Mel Gibson.

What You Need To Know

I do not tan or spray tan or alter my skin color in any way. As I've explained many times, that picture was taken the day after I returned from a week-long vacation in Las Vegas, where I lounged at the pool in the sun pretty much every day. Consequently, my skin changed colors. Then I took that picture. But now my skin isn't nearly that tan, because I haven't been to Vegas since last summer.

Baby wipes, huh? I think a bidet is the way to go.

Continuing the line of questioning from someone yesterday - how often do you fake-n-bake? Or do you lay out everyday in the beautiful sunshine of Missouri? There's gotta be a secret behind that frosted-tip hairdo of yours.

What You Need To Know

Gary, don't understand how you can possibly pick Memphis-UAB over Washington-Arizona St. as your notable game tonight; two ranked teams w/ 1st place in the Pac-10 on the line!
It's pretty easy actually. Memphphis-UAB will be nationally televised on ESPN2, Memphis-UAB is a much bigger rivalry than ASU-Washington in terms of location and history, Memphis-UAB also has 1st place on the line (not likely that UAB will win out and Memphis lose the rest, but it's still possible), UAB was the last team to beat Memphis in C-USA nearly 3 years ago in Birmingham, and ASU-Washington is on at 11:00 for anyone on the East Coast. If you need more reasons I can probably come up with them.
