Dear Gary (on a wrestling partner)

Here's Thursday's Dear Gary ...

Dear Gary: If you had to tag-team wrestle the British Bulldogs in a steel cage match, would you rather have Sherron Collins or Ty Lawson on your team?

Collins, I think.

Because though the two are listed similarly in terms of height and weight, my guess is that Collins is a little stronger, and I'm putting a huge emphasis on strength given that this is a wrestling match and all. Plus, things could get out of hand; don't forget, it's a cage match. And if things do get out of hand, I want somebody on my side who is capable of getting out of hand right along with them, and who's better at that than the guy who once allegedly exposed himself to a female in an elevator?

Clearly, Sherron Collins will do anything to win.

Even pull his junk out.

So given a choice, I'm taking Collins, and the plan will be for us to wrestle until Markieff Morris comes from the back with his BB gun and pops one of the British Bulldogs while the referee isn't looking, at which point we make the pin and walk away champions. Should be simple, and I appreciate you giving me an opportunity to address this issue.

I absolutely agree with (TurdFerguson & phoghat). I understand trying to make a joke but, sometimes you can a take joke to far when you use that persons name and claim he did something (like this) that you have no idea if he did.... I could tell people you did the same thing to me and I would have as much proof and you would be a guilty as your trying to make Sherron out to be, buy hey if your willing to take peoples word on something then why not beleive me and what I say you did ???

Are you guys serious? This is hilarious. It just made my day. Who cares if he made a joke about something that may or may not have happened. I live in Lawrence, KS and am a student at Kansas University and have no problems with anything Gary said. I found it all hysterical. I say keep 'em comin', Gary! I always enjoy a good laugh.

Actually gotta agree with phoghat on this one.  I'm all for ripping on athletes for their mistakes, but it seems unfair (and legally risky) to make jokes at the expense of guys who were later cleared of whatever allegations were brought against them.  I really don't think you'd say "I want Kobe as my wrestling partner, since he allegedly forcibly sodomizes people".  The charges/suits against both Sherron and Kobe were dropped, but I guess it's easier to get away with making those sorts of jokes about a junior in college than it is a wealthy guy with a team of lawyers.

Gary,

That was pretty unfair to Collins.  You link to a story stating that Collins failed to appear and lost that lawsuit relating to the elevator allegations.  I am hoping you just didn't know the rest of the story because it would not reflect well on you if you did and didn't include it just for the purposes of making a joke.  After the story you linked, Sherron Collins hired an attorney and fought the lawsuit.  The judge vacated the judgment.  Collins filed a counterclaim against the woman for defamation.  She dismissed her case in exchange for Collins agreeing not to pursue her for defamation.  No money was exchanged.  Here is the link: .  I hope you will clear up the confusion your blog caused.
