The Pac-10 tournament starts tonight in Los Angeles. If you're looking for a prediction, I'll take UCLA. But proof that this league is wildly unpredictable and lacking a true dominant force can be found in the following bit of information:

  • No. 1 seed Washington was swept this season by No. 3 seed California.
  • No. 2 seed UCLA was swept this season by No. 4 seed Arizona State.
  • No. 3 seed California was swept this season by No. 8 seed Oregon State.
  • No. 4 seed Arizona State was swept this season by No. 7 seed Washington State.

Arizona is the only true bubble team in the Pac-10.

The Wildcats play Arizona State on Thursday.

Win that, and they're in the field.

Lose that, and who knows?

Either way, click this link for a video preview of the event.

Pac-10 tournament: Who you got?

We've all learned that anything can happen in the Pac-10 this year.  With obvious bias I'll take UCLA over UW in the championship game.  We all know that PG play is essential to postseason success and the conference tourney and NCAA tourney stage will be new for Isaiah Thomas.  On the flipside, we have Darren Collison at UCLA, literally the most experienced postseason PG in college basketball right now and one of the most clutch late-game players too.  Combine this with Shipp's current domination and I think they can carry this team pretty far.

Oh and playing the tourney at Staples doesn't hurt either.

Cal was also swept by #2 UCLA. ASU was also swept by #1 UW. The two best teams, UCLA & UW will be in the finals for the rubber match between the two; in a tight game, the Huskies depth prevails in the end.

I have Washington St. vs Washington in the final with Washington St. taking it all.  They're the only team in that conference that looks to be showing a sense of urgency right now.  Plus, they've already beaten UCLA, Arizona, and Arizona St. in their last 4 games.

I would have to agree with the UCLA vs. UA final and a UCLA win.  Arizona has not been playing the best ball of late but for this is desperation mode and for their sake they better get passed ASU and Washington.  I think a game to watch though will in the second round UCLA against Washington St.  The cougars have won three of their last four which included a one point win over UCLA.  UCLA wins but check that out for sure.

I think UCLA beats UA in the final.  The Wildcats will get ASU after 2 close calls, and I'm afraid they're a bad matchup for my dawgs.  UCLA is hot right now and gets the hometown advantage.
