Suddenly, LSU is in a hostile arena

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- When this LSU-Butler game tipped the Greensboro Colisuem was mostly empty. But now it's nearly full in anticipation of North Carolina's tilt with Radford, and -- surprise, surprise -- pretty much everybody not wearing purple seems to be pulling for Butler.

As I type, LSU is up 41-40.

But the Tigers will essentially play the final 16 minutes as a road team.

What can I say, folks like to cheer for the little schools.

Suddenly, LSU is in a hostile arena

Do folks like to cheer for the little schools, or do UNC fans want to avoid LSU?

Even the refs were pulling for Butler.  At one point the smaller Butler team had taken 22 trips to the foul line while LSU made a paltry 11 trips.  It seemed, in all ways, like a road game for the Tigers.  Marcus Thornton was simply too much for Butler though.  That Howard kid can flat play.  When he fouled out LSU put it away.  Granted many felt Howard should have fouled out about 6 minutes earlier.  But thats how road games are - tough.  Next round against the ACC darlings North CarolhansbroughWILL be a road game.  Can the Tigers slay the the NCAA's fair-haired Goliath?
