Billy Gillispie has a stalker

Posted on: March 27, 2009 9:07 pm

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- I'm all for being a persistent reporter, but some TV guy in Kentucky probably took it too far Friday when he stalked Billy Gillispie through a building in an attempt to get ... actually, I'm not sure what he thought he was going to get. But if the goal was to look like a jerk on camera, well, congratulations are in order because the local TV guy certainly achieved that.

Click this link to see it.

Tell me what you think.

And for all you other coaches out there reading, let me say this: If you're going to fake being on the phone to avoid talking to reporters -- like Gillispie seemed to be doing -- I'd advise you to at least say some words every few seconds. Otherwise, you're just a dude with a phone stuck to your ear, and that looks kind of silly.

Billy Gillispie has a stalker

Alan Cutler was the TV man for WLEX-18 news in Lexington. I grew up in Lexington for over 20 years and remember seeing him as a sports analyst. In all that time however, I have never seen this kind of garbarge. He looked worse than Geraldo chasing someone down. Like you said, What was Cutler going to get out of it anyway? He then forces himself into the basketball offices and acts like he is being wronged when the secretary tells him to get out.  Cutler is a classless fool who should no longer be allowed to cover sports in Lexington. For lack of better words and lack of desire to waste more time on this fool, Alan Cutler is a pathetic excuse for a sports anchor.

Billy Gillispie has a stalker

For those who are not in KY. There have been countless e-mails sent to the station that employ's this moron that is chasing Billy G demanding that he be fired. It wont happen but it really should. This guy thought he was gonna get an exclusive talk will Billy by cutting him off and chasing him around I guess. What a tool!

Unfortunate. Billy Gillispie was the wrong hire for Kentucky, not Bernie Madoff. It's pretty ugly to watch really. I'll never understand why people think a bad coaching job is equivalent to murder.

That was Alan Cutler the local sports reporter for 18 news. The guy is a straight forward no B.S. kind of guy. If you need someone to be nice and put suger on a comment, then dont ask him. If Alan wants an answer he will get it.

The full clip shows BCG coming up already on the phone. He made an attempt, politely, saying, "I'm on the phone". This douchebag still asking questions, shoving a mic in his face and then BCG finally takes off jogging.

CUTLER IS A FIRST CLASS A$$HOLE and should be made to publicly apologize and go for a 5 mile run holding the camera and mic.

Then fired.

Billy Gillispie has a stalker

Okay, I'm going to re-post this...it was hard to read the other way...

"Mr. Cutler,

I saw your disgraceful stalking and near-assault on Billy Gillispie on YouTube, and found it appalling.

Have you no decency, sir?

Mr. Gillispie had just been told he would be fired from his post - as Kentucky's Head Coach - and declined to speak with you (as is his right in America!), yet you and your cameraman relentlessly pursued him (past 2 locked doors, uninvited and without permission...I think they call that "trespassing" in Kentucky...I know we call it that here in PA) and refused to accept "No!" for an answer. Right up to the point of nearly shoving a woman aside to continue your pursuit.

"Reporters" like you are what give REAL journalists a bad name. And if there's any justice, you'll be locked up for trespassing.

What's next? Stalking the vet who euthanized Alysheba last night? I wouldn't put it past you.

I can only assume from your ridiculous, indefenseable actions on the video that you are in the process of creating an audition tape to try and become one of Bill O'Reilly's "stalkerazzi" hounds that he sics on people who anger him. You'd be a natural.

Now, I'm sure my opinion is completely meaningless to you. I don't live in Lexington, and only visited there once (for the 1985 NCAA Finals). You don't "need" me as a viewer.

But I just wanted you to know that the people I dealt with then were kind, welcoming, and extremely classy. I still tell folks - even 24 years later - how well we were treated; how the good people - and Kentucky Basketball fans - of Lexington adopted those of us from Villanova as "their Wildcats" for that wonderful, exciting weekend. They were a great advertisement for the city of Lexington, Kentucky basketball, and the state of Kentucky in general.

You are none of those things, sir. You are a joke. And a pathetic human being.

And I'm CCing this to the Lex18 station management to tell them so.

Ray E"

Ah! THAT'S better! MUCH easier to read!

I've posted about this elsewhere. Nothing more need be said.

I sent Cutler (and the Lex18 management) the following e-mail:
