Ed Davis has announced his decision to return to North Carolina.

"(I) will not apply for the NBA Draft," Davis said via a statement released by the school on Sunday. "I love being a student at Carolina and playing with my teammates for Coach (Roy) Williams. I'd like to play in the NBA someday, but my family and I don't think I'm ready to take that step."

Davis averaged 6.7 points and 6.6 rebounds coming off the bench this season.

The 6-foot-10 forward would've likely been a lottery pick had he entered the NBA Draft.

"We are ecstatic with Ed's and his family's decision to remain at North Carolina," Williams said. "I truly enjoy coaching him. We always try to recommend what is best for each individual young man. Ed's family and I did discuss his options after the season and we are happy that he will continue to be a Tar Heel."

Should have know this BS would come from a Dook fan. Someone is just bitter they had an early exit AGAIN in the tournament. Dook is known for the NBA flops. Davis has the ability to be a Ben Wallace type player but once again i wouldnt expect a dook fan to know much about basketball.

Must be a Dook fan with his/her obvious hyperbole concerning Henderson. Anyway, I always find it ironic that a fan of Dook could ever talk about anything relating to the NBA. Well, they do know about NBA failure since sooo many of their "great" college players are either bench warmers or future graduate assistant coaches in waiting. My bad seems like you would have some expertise in this subject; however, former UNC players do have a track record for NBA success.

BTW, Brandan Wright is the best that you can come up with. Well, I will see your Brandan Wright and raise you a Cherokee Parks, Jay Williams, Bobby Hurley, Thomas Hill, Brain Davis, William Avery, Phil Hendersen, Robert Brickey, Chrissy Collins, Woho, Chris Carawell and the rest of them scrubs. In fact add Danny Ferry to the list since his claim to fame is being one of the bigges bust in NBA history and thank god that he playe for the Spurs or a former Dook b ball player wouldn't have a championship ring. Good thing Tim Duncan was his savior. LOL.

There's always a hater! Who was your team Villanova, Mich St? Hansbrough will be a solid contributor in the NBA. Not a stud. Lawson needs to continue to work on his jump shot, but with his quickness, he could be better than average. Ellington could be the best of them all. He can shoot the jumper and take it to the hole.  He's plenty athletic. He'll be good. Green should have stayed in school.

Hope you continue to watch Chapel Hill won championships!

Wow you hate the heels that much -

A couple points to pick -

1. Lawson is as quick as they come and WILL START

2. Hansbrough DOES HAVE an outside shot and it is consistent - If you watched him enough this year you would have recognized this fact - He will also OUTWORK ANYONE THIS SUMMER TO GET EVEN BETTER

3. Since you seem to love the Duke players lets look at the TARHEELS THAT HAVE MADE IT vs THE DUKE PLAYERS ........

a. MJ

b. Perkins

c Worthy

d Vince

e.Jamison

f.Heywood

g.Rasheed

h.Stackhouse

i Felton

There are others - These players listed ARE ALL SOLID CONTRIBUTORS....STATWISE.....
