KU lands Henry brothers

Xavier and C.J. Henry both plan to enroll at Kansas, sources involved in the recruitment have confirmed to CBSSports.com.

Barring a late change of plans, a formal announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.

C.J. was a walk-on at Memphis last season, and Xavier, a high school senior, committed to play there under John Calipari. But when Calipari left for Kentucky, the recruitment re-opened, and now it appears to have ended with the Jayhawks landing, in Xavier, a consensus top five prospect who will strengthen their hold on the top spot in the preseason Top 25 (and one) . As for C.J., it's unclear whether he'll be granted a waiver to play next season at Kansas. But sources said he will request one and deal with the result, either way.

I believe the correct term is "blown." Last year was the first time since Tayshaun was there that KU even had a damn team.

I'm reading a lot of comments from Kentucky fans that don't want one and done players at their program. So you're telling my Cousins isn't a one and done next year?! He is rated higher than Henry in a lot of recruitment boards. I would have to agree sounds like sour grapes.

One and Done?  It sounds like sour grapes to me.  Remeber that Cal is your coach now and you will rent players 1 year at a time at least every other year; if not, every year.

By the way, I hope you like well recruited and sloppily coached teams... cuz that's what you are going to get with Cal.  His teams can run, shoot and play D; just don't ask them to hit Free Throws or play half cout ball.

It is good to see Kentucky getting it back together. You want Patterson and Meeks back though. Don't trust in 1 and done players to right the ship immediately.  I hoep that Patterson and Meeks comes back for Kentucky. It is hard to see a tradition rich program fall like Kentucky has thelast few years. I hope that Calipari cane bring back that team and hopefully he stays clean. Good luck next year.

This is precisely the kind of attitude and respect I expect to see and most often do from fans of teams that truly understand what tradition is all about.  I am very happy to see that UNC is back to their winning ways as well.  I can't wait to see UK get back into the mix with UNC and KU where they belong.  My top three programs have always been UK, UNC and KU with UCLA close by.  Of these top programs, none has suffered more than UK in the last decade, but we definitely seem to be hitting the corner and are looking forward to many great years to come.  Thank you for showing class and displaying what fans of truly prestigious programs are like.

So how much do Tarheel fans have to put up with FSU, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia Tech and Clemson fans?  Which ACC team is the worst for barking fans?  In the SEC...I would have to say it is a toss up between UF and UT.  UF hasn't been making as much noise as of late...I guess they have already forgotten their back-to-back NCs.  Oh well.

Which recruit are you Tarheel fans most excited about?  I was extremely impressed with that Henson kid!

I'm happy for Kansas; I love preseason #1's...easy to project - harder to win!  Congrats and best of luck to the one and done Henry; we want players whom want to come to UK for UK - it's obviously a "family" decision and good for him - hope to see you on the court!  Go Cats!

As a jayhawk fan, I must say that if I had to root for any other team (or see good news for another team), it would be UNC AND UK.  I know many jayhawk fans who would disagree, but I still hold any team with the history and ties to KU that those two teams have in extremely high regard.  Not just for the mutual ties, but for their own accomplishments.  Any college hoops fan that says nobody cares about Kentucky is either very young, or rather ignorant (in my humble opinion).  The so-called five or six bluebloods of college hoops don't always win the title.  Each of the historically top programs has had its down years.  However, to say that one of them is irrelevant; that's just plain college hoops blasphemy!

jaydhawk,

Very well said and I hope you forgive my outburst to the idiot KU fan who stated "nobody cares about Kentucky or that they don't matter".  Indeed the truly elite programs are (not necessarily in this order):  UK, UNC, KU, Duke, UCLA and IU (with others deserving honorable mention: MSU, UConn, Syracuse, Florida, OSU, Louisville, UC).  No disrespect to Georgetown, Villanova, Arizona and other teams I failed to mention.  I would love to know what most people's Top 3 ALL-TIME programs would be.  Mine would probably be UK, UNC and KU.  UCLA commands a lot of respect with 11 NCs but I just can't see putting them above UK, UNC or KU.

When we get back to our winning ways which far eclipses KU's winning ways...you'll start caring again.  Keep talking.  How many NCs does KU have now?  Let us know when you get to or pass 7 and maybe we (KENTUCKY) will start caring about KU.  LOL!

So, you'd obviously reject Elijah Johnson if he wanted to switch over to Memphizzle?
