A person with access to Derrick Rose's academic records at Simeon High in Chicago changed a D to a C on his transcript just before the future Memphis Tiger was applying to college, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday.

According to the paper, the Chicago Public Schools has been unable to determine who falsified the transcripts. But a report by the CPS inspector general claims Rose was one of four Simeon High athletes whose grades were changed after their 2007 graduation, which is notable now that the NCAA has alleged that an unnamed player who competed for Memphis in the 2008 Final Four knowingly had his SAT taken for him in advance of his enrollment.

Sources have told CBSSports.com that the player in question is Rose.

Attempts by CBSSports.com to reach Rose and his older brother Reggie have been unsuccessful.

Report: Rose had high school grade changed

The problem is not the NBA.

No one is forcing these kids to go to college for a year.

They can play overseas if they are dumb as bricks and cant fairly get into college.

Or they can take a year off.

NO ONE is forcing them to go play basketball at College. They CHOOSE to.

And once they make that choice, they have to play by the freakin rules that everyone is playing by or they are cheaters.

Same with coaches.

Same with programs.

Report: Rose had high school grade changed

The problem is the NCAA, and the NBA.  D-Rose could have made millions as a basketball player out of high school, but per NBA rules he couldn't enter the draft for another year. If he cheated it was because he was being forced to take an unnecesary step to make it to the NBA. You can't force people to do things they don't want to do and then punish them if they don't do it correctly.  Of course these kids (guys like Rose and OJ Mayo) are gonna cheat on grades and take money because they know they could (and should) already be millionaires, but are being forced wait another year for no logical reason.  The one year out of high school rule traps these kids for a year under the NCAA guidelines and penalizes them if they do anything wrong (wrong?) under a governing body of an organization they don't even want to be part of. Lastly going to Europe is not an answer because they don't play the american game there and will sit on the bench for the year not competing, like Brandon Jennings just had happen to him this year.

Didn't Darrell Arthur Have a Grade Changed too?

Whatever happened the allegation that Arthur's grades were changed so he would be eligible to pay at Kansas?  Seems like the NCAA is more than a day late and a dollar short on all of these investigations.  I mean really, Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo will be retired before the NCAA does anything to USC, and there was a lot more going on in those cases than in the Rose situation.

Report: Rose had high school grade changed

I think Tim Floyd broke into the school for the grade change.  John Calipari caught Floyd coming out and blindsided him with a cheap shot.  Calipari then found Reggie Rose and offered a substantial amount of money for travel expenses for attending Derrick's games.
