Did Taggart say he's leaving Memphis for good?

The University of Memphis is having a rough week.

If Shawn Taggart's Facebook status is any indication, it looks to be getting worse.

"Willie,p,spoon, dmack,r.dot, white chocolate, and angle......... love yal (expletive) no (expletive) but...... its ova wit...... yal hold it down."

Now I am no expert translator, but that kind of sounds like a goodbye to current Tigers Willie Kemp (willie), Pierre Niles (p), Wesley Witherspoon (spoon), Roburt Sallie (r.dot?), Preston Laird (white chocolate), and Angel Garcia (angle).

Am I reading that correctly?

Taggart entered the NBA Draft last month (but did not hire an agent) ... even though there's no indication he'll be selected. On the other hand, he's already graduated from Memphis. So leaving actually makes some sense if the goal is to simply earn a check somewhere, ASAP.

The girls always take your car, don't they, Rip???

The facebook posting certainly sounds like he's gone, but I hope Tag comes back.  He has potential to be a real force on the team next year.  If he hadn't had that little mid-season slump at Xmas, the numbers this year would've been much better.  I think a full year like he started this year would be all-conference material in 09/10; then, maybe he could parlay that into an NBA career.  Let's put that degree to use, Tag, and let your brains kick in here.

Tiger Dogger, thanks for the info I will take notice of it.  If you say MJ is good then so be it.  Understand that the only time I have seen his post is when he weakly tried to defend Tag.  Once you got to the third sentence of his post you saw that he agreed with me.  Listen I have lived and breathed Tiger sports since I grew up on campus in 1962 as a two year old and continue to follow very closely with some inside help.  I want nothing other than for Tag to come back and be a force on a team that the NCAA and C-USA expect to be down.

Gave my car to my daughter so I'm afraid that I don't have one to give................

Taggart's game includes this:
- 6' 10"
- occasional blocks
- occasional scoring
Uhhh.......don't forget team leading rebounding, both defensive and offensive. And don't forget, he has NC experience. He has proven he can play at a top level. I agree that he needs more time to really hone his game under Pastner, but this guy can play, and his potential was not fully developed under Cal. Not even close. Oh, and he actually can shoot free throws as well. At least he can now, LOL.

Although, if he comes back next year, he will be one of the best big men in the country and would probably be a lottery pick next year.  Go Tag and Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is Taggart better than in terms of big men?

Every time I've seen him get a foul called he pouts and acts like a punk in a pick-up game.

Taggart's game includes this:
- 6' 10"
- occasional blocks
- occasional scoring

That's NOT NBA material. Perhaps he could be a late first round or second round pick NEXT year if he hones his skills but as of now he can go to the D League or Europe.

Rip1Tigers,

You really don't know MJ do you? He's a rookie the way Derrick Rose is a rookie. MJ knows more Tiger basketball than most of the people on this board. He's just got ahhhh.....a little history, that got him knocked back to rookie. He's good people, just a little on the wild side. Trust me when I say, when the Apocalypse comes you want him on your side.

By the way, if there is a rapture first, can I have your car?

Well, we can certainly establish that Taggart received a University of Memphis education.

Jesus is a quite respectable name.

MemphisJesus; wow you must be some really smart Christian to have Jesus in your screen name........also what a tremendous way to express your attitude with your last statement.  Sir I think that you should rethink that screen name and remove the name of the Lord and Savior from the title as you certainly are not acting very Christian like.

If you read your third complete sentence you agree with me.  That's great that he has graduated and did it in under 4 yrs, awesome, I applaud him.  If he listens to anyone that is rating players he has no chance in the NBA draft at all, even Gary Parrish said he should come back and improve.  I am not sure which UM games you might have watched this year but averaging 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds is not worthy of an NBA draft slot.  His Draft Express ranking is 54th out of all Juniors, not Seniors or guys in the draft but in JUNIORS.  Ending your season with 9pts and 8 rebs was not exactly the way to head out to the pros.  Granted he might find a job in Europe but I am sure that is not his hope.  As a Tiger Fan I hope he comes back, has a monster year and helps lead a seemingly understaffed and inexperienced team to some key wins and another trip to the NCAA.

Dude, the word Rookie by your name says it all.  Come back in when you grow up.
