Tennessee forward Tyler Smith is holding a Thursday afternoon press conference to announce that he is withdrawing from the NBA Draft, a source close to the Vols program told CBSSports.com.

Smith averaged 17.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season.

This development means the Vols will return every relevant player from a 21-win team.

So Cousins decomitting from Memphis doesn't count? How about you do some research before you run off at the mouth. You're the moron! And since we're talking about players that didn't see the floor neither did CJ Henry. Quit whining!

Cousins had yet to sign so therefore he wasn't a part of the Memphis class. Cut it anyway you want but that's a fact. Also, C.J. was part of the Memphis team as a red-shirt and his brother had signed a LOI. That's a big difference pal.

Whining? Who's whining? I making statements based on facts and everyone else (you) are talking like we stole every recruit from Memphis when once again, facts will show we have ONE recruit that Memphis had signed and was prepared to enroll in Dodson.

Kansas, on the other hand not only took the best "signed" recruit from Memphis but also another player alreday on the roster. How can you sit there and compare the two? Grow up peter pan.

You know what... you're right, that was an arrogant statement, and I didn't mean to feed into bad rep UK fans get sometimes. I too look forward to the UK/UT games next year.

With the return of Smith KY might actually have to earn a SEC championship, instead of the preseason,we hired a mid major coach now we are the greatest, national championship. Interesting.

Lol!!! Sure we're going to have to earn the SEC Championship... That said just a little fact I would like to throw out there is our "mid major" coach has seen more success at the college level than Bruce Pearl has during his career.

I also feel the same as you in regards to not caring about beating UT... we do most of the time anyway so it's not a big deal but I am more interested in winning the war opposed to just the battle year in and year out.

I for one am actually the happiest person in college about Smith returning... why you may ask? He was one of the few guys that Perry Stevenson actually dominated the last couple of years.

Good luck next year... fyi, my wife went to UT and is a big Vols fan so I have to talk a little trash to keep it real. Wink

I personally, as a Tennessee fan, could care less if we beat Kentucky, as long as we can finish ahead of them for the fifth straight year in the SEC. Wow. Pearl has never finished behind KY. The saying "lost the battle but won the war" comes to mind. With the return of Smith KY might actually have to earn a SEC championship, instead of the preseason,we hired a mid major coach now we are the greatest, national championship. Interesting.

Nobody on this board probably won't because Pearl didn't leave a school and bring all of his recruits with him.

There is a word that I want you to think about... it's called research pal. So Do some before you run off the mouth about a situation you obviously know nothing about.

Coach Calipari has one player from Memphis that will be on the UK roster this coming season. The fact is Dodson, who is a jr college transfer by the way never touched the floor for Memphis. That said I'm not sure what else you're talking about in regards to bringing all the recruits with him.

Actually, you guys stole more recruits from Memphis than we did moron.

EXACTLY! Pearl has always matched up well with Calipari and Memphis. Pearl system just never matched up with Gillespie's. That's just the way it is. Some systems match up with some better than they do others.

Oh, and btw, whoever said it was ignorant/arrogant to say that UT even has a chance of beating UK next year, that was the absolute DUMBEST post I've seen in a long time. Talk about us being arrogant... I'm not saying we'll win, but to say a team like Tennessee won't even come close to hanging with Kentucky is ridiculous...

Kentucky was mediocre at best last year and UK won convincingly both times. Yeah, and that was with Billy Gillespie as coach.  Bruce Pearl matches up a lot better against Calipari than Gillespie for some reason.  And don't even start about how many future lottery picks are on your roster.  Back after Florida won its second consecutive championship in 2007, 6 Gators were drafted.  What was Pearl's record in 4 games against those same Gators? 3-1.  I just don't see Kentucky winning the national title this season.  Maybe next year, certainly not this year.

Nobody on this board probably won't because Pearl didn't leave a school and bring all of his recruits with him. Smith simply tested the waters and is coming back. Nothing wrong with that and if Tennessee is only one over so what? It's not like they were 4 over like another team in the SEC was.
