This sure is a crazy story

To recap ...
Rick Pitino had sex with a woman at a restaurant.
Then she got pregnant.
Then he paid for her to have an abortion.
Then she married one of his friends.
Then she tried to extort money from Pitino.
Then she accused him of rape.
And, man, is this a bizarre story or what?
I'm not sure whether the lesson is to be faithful to your wife or fearful of crazy women, but there's a lesson in there somewhere, I'm certain. And what's up with this Tim Sypher character? How can you marry a woman six months after she had an abortion due to your boss getting her pregnant? Isn't that a bit weird? Unless, of course, he was under orders from Pitino, who might've figured the best way to keep this woman quiet was to have his friend marry her.
You know, keep your friends close and affairs closer.
(Or something like that.)
I guess I could be serious about all this, but, really, what's the point? It's such a strange situation on a lot of different levels, and the only people I can muster any sympathy for are Pitino's wife, Joanne, and his children -- particularly Richard Pitino, who was on the Louisville staff until this offseason and thus in the middle of a circus where he almost certainly found himself torn between being loyal to his boss and angry at his father.
Karen Sypher?
She's obviously loony .
Tim Sypher?
I don't get him at all.
Rick Pitino?
He's a helluva basketball coach, but he got himself into a mess that's impossible to defend.
Me?
I'm just sitting here shaking my head, mezmerized by the soap opera.
(PS: I wrote a column when this all started, and my central point was that no matter how the story ended, it wouldn't end well for anybody. Considering Pitino has been forced to admit to an affair and an abortion, and that Sypher is facing criminal charges, I think I was right in my assumption. Either way, you can read that column at this link , if you want.)

Actually, we have skeletons in our closets. Ghosts are in the attic, bats in the belfry, and cobwebs in the brain. ![]() |

This sure is a crazy storySadly, Pitino and the male species in general think too often with a certain appendage. But this story is a little more whacko than the run of the mill kind of affair. But what's cheating on your loving and devoted wife without a little spice? I'm thinking this would be a great made for TV drama on Lifetime. LMAO!

YOU sure are crazyLooks like your welfare check is late this month. Thank goodness for you that my tax dollars still pay for the public library where type your liberal puke filth. Ask Obama for a stimulus package to get your internet turned back on at home. Also, ask for a stimulus package to get cable television so you can watch something other than CBS News.
She made the decision to have an abortion, which was her decision to make (and PLEASE, let's follow the established laws of the land on this one, not get into the "they murdered a baby". Conservatives call for murder every day through supporting war, capital punishment and a lack of gun control). I think you will have a hard time finding Americans of any political affiliation, let alone your so-called murderous conservatives, who "call for murder" daily through support of war. I know several conservatives and they do not like war or murder as you claim. You probablly will not, however, have a hard time finding Americans, whether they be Democrats or Republicans, who support defending the United States. I know several Democrats who support our servicemembers and military. I will assume that you have an honorable father, grandfather, great-grandfather, or some other relative who served our great nation in battle. Certainly you would not consider them to be a murderer, would you? Having lost relatives in battle defending our nation and having served in war myself, I do not consider American servicemen to be a murderers. Rather, they are heroes to every American, Democrat or Republican, except pukes like you. True conservatives know the legal cost to tax payers for the appeals process granted death row inmates is exponentially more expensive than life in prison. In reality, not too many people really support the death penalty except those who have had a family member murdered. It's just too expensive. Gun control laws only affect those who obey the law. Hence, any law governing firearms will only restrict the rights of those who obey the law. In your world, I am sure the drug dealers and domestic terrorists will be happy to surrender their firearms so we can all be shiny, happy people. In reality, due to an armed population, the good guys outnumber the bad guys in our land by a great margin. If law-abiding citizens were disarmed, the bad guys would have free-reign over the land. You apparently did not think about that. There. I did not get into abortion as a murderous act. Go ask forgiveness for what you typed. I don't have to. |

This sure is a crazy storyYou know, I am starting to wonder that is why Rick's son, Richard, left the school. Maybe he couldn't stand being around his father anymore.

Two questions for you GaryIs the Sypher mess the whole reason Richard Pitino moved to Billy Donovan's staff? Or was a move to another staff probable anyway? I know you can't fully answer this next question, but I'm looking for your best analysis given your frequent interaction with recruits, their families and coaches. How much does this mess negatively impact Rick Pitino's ability to recruit the talent he desires? Use a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being little to no impact and 10 being a crippling impact.
And technically that is THREE questions, but I view the first two questions as an entry from the same stable, so they are 1A and 1B. Thank you. |

This sure is a crazy storyI have always thought that personal lives should stay personal, hence the word personal. But big name people seem to have different boundries when it comes to this. Personally i could give less if hes banging somebody else. i just wanna see results on the court. Look we all got ghosts in our closets and i and many ppl have been in similar aituations, just watch maury for an hour. his job as coach should be fine as i see what he did as being of personal nature. It wasnt like he told all the players " hey watch the news for my mistake i made and join in". Im sure hes addressed the team and told them not to make same mistake. but either way, personal should stay personal.... you must be Democrat (Clinton)!!
